HUTB Holds Opening Ceremony of 2024 Sports Festival and Fun Sports Event for Teachers and Students

On the afternoon of March 26, the 2024 Sports Festival and a fun sports event for teachers and students were successfully held at the Feiyue Track and Field in the South Campus. Liu Guoquan, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, announced the opening of the Sports Festival, while Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, delivered a speech. Representatives of faculties and students from all secondary units also attended the event. The opening ceremony was hosted by Xiao Xiaoqin, Chairman of the Labour Union.

After the opening ceremony, fitness coaches led teachers and students at the scene to warm up with the bunny dance, which mobilized their enthusiasm, stimulated physical energy, and instantly ignited the atmosphere. The "Strive for excellence and embark on a new journey of accomplishments" fun sports event for faculty and staff officially kicked off.

With the sound of a whistle, the participants of the "Dragon Walk" competition rode on their dragons, moving swiftly and showing great potential on the track. They exerted themselves in the spirit of fun, striving to improve, and promoting physical fitness. They fully demonstrated the charisma of the teachers from HUTB, showcasing their teamwork and collaborative spirit. In the "Passing the Torch" competition, the faculty and staff worked together with great concentration and cooperation, receiving batons one after another with quick, steady, and accurate movements. In the "Building the Tower Together" competition, everyone worked together to build a tall tower, demonstrating the importance of teamwork cohesion through close coordination and steady progress. The cheers and shouts of encouragement from the audience were continuous, creating a lively atmosphere at the scene.

The student fun competition featured a total of eight events, divided into two main categories: regular fun competitions and traditional ethnic competitions. In the regular fun competition events, the relay baton was passed swiftly in the "Face-to-Face Relay", the participants displayed agile jumping skills in the "Group Rope Jump", and they showed composure and determination in the "Walk on Stones Only" event. In the traditional ethnic competition events, participants displayed graceful posture in "Archery", hitting the target bullseye with precision. In "Board-Shoe Racing", participants marched forward with spirited chants toward a common goal. In "Shuttlecock Kicking", they demonstrated nimble footwork, executing precise passes with elegant and skillful movements. The "Frisbee Throwing" event showcased the disc's mesmerizing flight, delivering an array of splendid throws. In "Simple Stilt Racing", participants moved forward with heads held high, embodying a determined and resolute spirit. The cheers and applause at the scene were continuous, as student-athletes ignited the green field with their sweat, showcasing the spirit of hard work and determination of HUTB students, as they strive to be the best.
This event aims to implement the national strategy of promoting fitness for all, advocating the concept of "exercising for an hour a day, maintaining good health for fifty years, and leading a happy life for a lifetime". It seeks to inspire students and staff to cultivate a passion for exercise and create a healthy and positive atmosphere throughout the university. Furthermore, the fun sports event serves as an opportunity to showcase the indomitable spirit of self-improvement, the excellent tradition of unity and cooperation, and the proactive and enterprising attitude of all teachers and students. It encourages all teachers and students to continue to promote the university's comprehensive development and high-quality growth with strong physical fitness and a determined posture.
Through participation in this event, both teachers and students feel a sense of fulfillment and gain.
