HUTB Holds Grand "Alumni Return to Hunan" Exchange Meeting

On the afternoon of March 30, the annual meeting of the HUTB Alumni Entrepreneurs Association and the "Alumni Return to Hunan" exchange meeting were held in Changsha. Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Zhou Fan, Vice Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone) and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yuelu District Committee, Zhang Junping, Secretary of the CPC Committee of and Director of the Hunan Provincial Business Service Center, Zhou Shaofeng, Executive Director of the "Alumni Return to Hunan" Task Force in Hunan Province, Liu Guoquan and Gan Dejian, Members of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice Presidents of HUTB, Yi Mianyang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, and Tan Xiancai, Chairman of the HUTB Alumni Entrepreneur Association, attended the meeting. Representatives from functional departments and secondary schools of the university, and alumni entrepreneur representatives also attended the meeting.

Secretary Chen Xiaohong delivered a speech at the meeting. On behalf of the CPC HUTB Committee, she expressed profound respect and best wishes to leaders at all levels who care and support the construction and development of HUTB, as well as to the vast number of alumni who are dedicated to their alma mater, serving the society, and making selfless contributions. She pointed out that in recent years, the university has adhered to the educational concept of integrating "New engineering courses + new business courses + new liberal arts courses" with the development of science, anchoring the university's strategic goal of "Three Advances and Three Highs". It has taken the lead in constructing the Xiangjiang Laboratory, one of the "Four Major Laboratories" in Hunan Province. The university has achieved rapid development in scientific research, talent cultivation, and campus construction, and the sense of happiness and well-being among faculty and students continues to increase. The university's reputation and visibility have also been continuously enhanced.

Secretary Chen Xiaohong stated that alumni are the university's best business card and resource. The unwavering support of alumni is an important guarantee and an invincible source of strength for promoting the vigorous development of all aspects of the university's work. The CPC HUTB Committee attaches great importance to alumni work, and the university will provide comprehensive service guarantees for alumni entrepreneurs returning to Hunan Province. It will provide support and services in scientific and technological innovation, achievement transformation and industrialization, major project implementation, and construction of scientific and technological platforms. The university will spare no effort in supporting the development of alumni careers and become a strong backing for alumni entrepreneurs. She expressed her hope that all alumni entrepreneurs will start businesses and thrive in Hunan, showcasing the strong force of HUTB in the province's "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative, and making greater contributions to the economic and social development of Hunan.

Vice Secretary Zhou Fan expressed gratitude on behalf of the CPC Working Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone) to the leaders and guests who have long been concerned and supportive of the development of the new area. He stated that under the leadership of academician Chen Xiaohong, HUTB has achieved remarkable achievements, realized leapfrog development, and made outstanding contributions to regional economic and social development in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, economic construction, and talent cultivation. He looked forward to HUTB and the vast alumni entrepreneurs leveraging their extensive network and wide-ranging contacts to become ambassadors for promoting the image of the new area, attracting investment for the development of the new area, and recruiting talent for the development of the new area. The new area will warmly welcome the alumni with the most sincere intentions, provide the best services, and offer the best environment to support the alumni. Secretary Zhang Junping pointed out that the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province attach great importance to investment promotion work, and are constructing a broad framework to accelerate the return of Hunan merchants and alumni to Hunan, and promote the development of local talents. They are constantly exploring new ways to attract investment across the province. This event is an important measure to implement the decision-making arrangements of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province. He provided a brief explanation to alumni entrepreneurs on the investment promotion policies in Hunan from three aspects: policy support, industrial optimization, and service guarantee. He expressed his hope that alumni entrepreneurs would seize the opportunity and return to Hunan for development. He stated that the commerce department will fully support the development of alumni enterprises in Hunan with a more open attitude, a more pragmatic style, and higher-quality services, jointly composing a chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Hunan.

Director Zhou Shaofeng gave full recognition to the academic achievements of HUTB and its "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative. He pointed out that HUTB enjoys the reputation of being the "base of Hunan's economic forces and the cradle of business celebrities", gathering a large number of entrepreneurial elites who have made significant contributions to the local economy. He detailed the work of "alumni + talent" returning to Hunan, "alumni + technology" revitalizing Hunan, "alumni + projects" gathering in Hunan, "alumni + enterprises" coming to Hunan, and "alumni + education" strengthening Hunan around the "Two Backgrounds", "Three Platforms", and "Three Visions." He expressed his hope that local governments, universities, and entrepreneurs could support each other and achieve mutual success, cooperate for a win-win situation, and develop together.

Chairman Tan Xiancai introduced the Alumni Entrepreneur Association and the investment of the "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative. He pointed out that over the years, alumni entrepreneurs have made positive contributions to the development of their alma mater in various fields and have made outstanding contributions to the continuous development of Hunan's economy and society, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of HUTB's alumni entrepreneurs. He stated that the Alumni Entrepreneur Association will actively respond to the call of "Alumni Return to Hunan" and leverage its platform advantages to deeply integrate talent, projects, enterprises, technology, and education into the high-quality development of their hometown. They aim to enhance the reputation of their alma mater and contribute to the development of Hunan.

The bird Jingwei rides the wind and leads the trend and the roc Kunpeng spreads its wings and soars thousands of miles. The "Love Hometown, Build Hometown" launching ceremony for alumni entrepreneurs to "Return to Hunan" was also held. The attending leaders and guests used the life-giving waters from the four rivers of "Xiang, Zi, Yuan, and Li", Dongting Lake, and the Yangtze River to collectively water the saplings of the "Return to Hunan" tree, wishing for a flourishing "Return to Hunan" forest. During the ceremony, Secretary Chen Xiaohong presented books to outstanding alumni representatives, and the atmosphere on-site was filled with warmth and joy.

On the evening of March 29, the "Alumni Return to Hunan" drone show was performed brilliantly at the Feiyue Track and Field in the South Campus. Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, attended and chaired the event. The alumni who attended the Alumni Entrepreneur Association and "Alumni Return to Hunan" exchange meeting joined our teachers and students in watching this spectacular performance, full of technological elements, alumni enthusiasm, and showcasing the university's charm. On the morning of March 30, the Alumni Entrepreneur Association Annual Meeting·Forum was held at the Runhe Financial Center. Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, and alumni entrepreneur representatives attended the alumni forum, and lively discussions took place on-site.

It is reported that after the "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative was launched in Changsha on January 31, HUTB actively responded to the call of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province and vigorously promoted the "Alumni Return to Hunan" work. The university has established a leading group and a task force, with Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, personally leading and coordinating the "Alumni Return to Hunan" work. A special meeting on the "Alumni Return to Hunan" work was promptly convened to clarify the work priorities, responsibilities of various departments, and the working mechanism. Extensive publicity and mobilization efforts were carried out, including organizing multiple "Alumni Return to Hunan" work mobilization conferences and issuing an initiative titled "Grateful for Our Hometown, Building Dreams in Hunan" to all alumni. The Chief Leaders led teams to visit alumni-owned enterprises in the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, and other areas to promote the "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative. As one of the eight founding universities of the Hunan Alumni Work Promotion Association, the university actively organized alumni participation in various activities such as research meetings, discussions, and idea collection sessions related to the "Alumni Return to Hunan" work organized by relevant departments.
