On the afternoon of April 20, the Wei Hongzhang Alumni Donation and Industry-Education-Research Cooperation Base Unveiling Ceremony was held in Shenzhen The ceremony was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, Xia Jichun, Executive Vice President of the Alumni Association, Li Hu, Chairman of Shenzhen Techwinsemi Technology Co., Ltd., a company listed on the Main Board, Wei Hongzhang, co-founder of Shenzhen Techwinsemi Technology Co., Ltd. and an alumnus from the 1985 class of the Finance and Accounting major, and Xie Xianhua, an alumnus from the 2000 class of the Administrative Management major and Executive Director of Shenzhen Suowei Information Technology Co., Ltd. Approximately 100 people attended the event, including leaders from relevant functional departments and secondary schools of the university, leaders from relevant departments of Xiangjiang Laboratory, representatives from collaborating companies, and representatives from alumni associations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Representatives from the alumni associations in the Greater Bay Area, such as Lei Liang and Xie Xianhua, Vice Presidents of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, Liu Yanbo, President of the Zhuhai Alumni Association, You Xiongzhi, President of the Dongguan Alumni Association, and Wang Chaoxi, Executive President of the Guangzhou Alumni Association, delivered speeches and engaged in discussions.
During the ceremony, alumnus Wei Hongzhang donated RMB6 million to support the development of the university and Xiangjiang Laboratory. The university also signed industry-education-research cooperation agreements with Shenzhen Techwinsemi Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Suowei Information Technology Co., Ltd.
Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and CAE Academician, presented donation certificates and commemorative plaques to alumnus Wei Hongzhang, while also unveiling the plaque for the industry-education-research cooperation base.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong expressed sincere gratitude to alumnus Wei Hongzhang on behalf of the university and Xiangjiang Laboratory for his generous donation. She pointed out that alumnus Wei Hongzhang has deep emotions towards his alma mater. His generous donation vividly demonstrates his gratitude and concern for education, as well as his sense of responsibility to give back to society. This sets a good example for other alumni to follow.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong stated that in recent years, the university has achieved a historic leap in its educational level, witnessed historical changes in its campus appearance, experienced a historic improvement in the level of faculty, achieved a historic elevation in scientific research, and enhanced its capability in social services. HUTB is currently in the fastest period of development in its history, enjoying the best period in terms of influence, reputation, and visibility. It has entered a "golden period" of development characterized by carrying forward past achievements, striving for progress, gathering resources, enhancing connotation, seeking stability while making progress, and increasing the pace of development.
In her speech, Secretary Chen Xiaohong pointed out that industry-education-research cooperation is an important way to cultivate talent in universities and also an inherent requirement and strategic measure for the development and progress of enterprises in the new era to achieve win-win outcomes. The National Center for Basic Science and Xiangjiang Laboratory, which are high energy-level scientific and technological innovation platforms led by the university, provides a broader platform for deepening industry-education-research cooperation. By establishing industry-education-research cooperation bases in two alumni-owned enterprises, it can be said that both sides are actively engaged in cooperation and pursuing win-win outcomes. This will undoubtedly inject new vitality into accelerating the cultivation of new quality productive forces and promoting high-quality local economic development.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong expressed her hope that the alumni associations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will actively connect and integrate, resonate with Hunan and their alma mater, seize the opportunities of the times, share the dividends of development, jointly compose a new chapter of development, and promote more alumni to stay in Hunan, return to Hunan, or come to Hunan. This will drive good projects and major projects to take root and bear fruit in Hunan, actively serving the economic and social development of Hunan, and demonstrating the strength of HUTB through "alumni returning to Hunan". She also warmly invited alumni to return to their alma mater to participate in the 75th anniversary celebration and experience the rapid changes of the university.
Alumnus Wei Hongzhang, graduated from HUTB in 1985 and majoring in finance and accounting, holds a PhD in management. He is the co-founder of Shenzhen Techwinsemi Technology Co., Ltd., a company listed on the Main Board, Chairman of Hunan Dongfang Tianrun Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., and Executive Director of Shenzhen Deyalun Capital Management Co., Ltd. He is also Chairman of Shenzhen Shunji Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., Vice President of the HUTB Alumni Association, President of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, and Vice President of the Alumni Entrepreneur Association.
During the ceremony, alumnus Wei Hongzhang emotionally recalled his time studying at his alma mater. He believed that his alma mater laid the foundation for his career development and sincerely thanked the university for its nurturing and guidance over the years. He called on more alumni to join in supporting the construction and development of the university and pledged to further support the university's endeavors.
Representatives from alumni associations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including Lei Liang, Xie Xianhua, Liu Yanbo, You Xiongzhi, and Wang Chaoxi, took turns to speak, reporting on the development of alumni associations in various regions. They all expressed that under the leadership of Secretary Chen Xiaohong, their alma mater has undergone significant changes and achieved remarkable academic accomplishments. The alumni were deeply inspired and pledged to follow Secretary Chen Xiaohong's call to "take the lead in four aspects", building and managing their alumni branches and careers well, actively contributing to society, and giving back to their alma mater.
Before the ceremony, Secretary Chen Xiaohong and her delegation visited Shenzhen Techwinsemi Technology Co., Ltd. and had in-depth discussions with Chairman Li Hu. After the ceremony, Secretary Chen Xiaohong visited the members of the fourth council of the Shenzhen Alumni Association and had a cordial exchange with them.
