2024-12-07

On the afternoon of December 6, Xiangjiang Laboratory and Golden Eagle Broadcasting System (GBS) held an exchange symposium in the Zhiyuan Lecture Hall of Xiangjiang Building. Chen Xiaohong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of the CPC HUTB Commerce; Xu Rong, Member of the CPC Committee, Deputy General Manager, and Deputy Director of GBS, Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and others attended the meeting. Heads of relevant departments from both sides participated in the meeting.

Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered a speech at the meeting, warmly welcoming Deputy Director Xu Rong and her delegation, and expressing appreciation for the outcomes of their previous cooperation. She pointed out that, as the first provincial laboratory to be officially established, Xiangjiang Laboratory has continuously enhanced its operational capabilities. It has adhered to the development strategy of "integrating data, algorithm, computing power and computing network, leading innovation, and intelligent computing for the future." The laboratory has established strategic collaborations with local governments, leading technology enterprises, and others. It has released a series of original products and scientific achievements to the public, achieving significant progress in its construction and development. At this year's Provincial Science and Technology Conference and Science and Technology Awards Ceremony, Xiangjiang Laboratory made a typical speech representing the "4+4" sci+tech innovation project. HUTB adheres to the educational philosophy of "culture + technology" and focuses on cultivating outstanding innovative talents in areas such as "digital intelligence + (artificial intelligence +)" and "green +". Over the past decade, the university has achieved leapfrog development, successfully accomplishing its three "upgrade" goals: upgrading to a university, upgrading to a first-tier university, and establishing doctoral programs. Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB adhere to mutual empowerment. A number of college student technology innovation teams cultivated by Xiangjiang Laboratory have consecutively won the top awards in various competitions, including the China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition, the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition, the Global Campus Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Elite Competition, and the "Challenge Cup" National College Students series of competitions.

Deputy Director Xu Rong expressed gratitude for the warm reception at Xiangjiang Laboratory and praised the development achievements of both Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB. She stated that in recent years, GBS has adhered to the "culture + technology" empowerment strategy, achieving an upgrade in the quality of content across its all-media matrix. Particularly in areas such as micro-short drama creation, AI audio creation, and smart ideological and political radio stations, the group has made a series of explorations and achieved positive results. In response to new development demands and the changing landscape of technological transformation, she hopes to leverage the leading advantages and technological expertise of Xiangjiang Laboratory in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced computing, and strengthen cooperation in areas such as vertical large-model development and platform construction, working together to create exemplary works that integrate culture and technology for the new era.

Relevant personnel from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on specific cooperation matters and reached a consensus on collaboration.

Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered a concluding speech at the meeting, affirming the achievements of the meeting. She expressed the hope that both sides would leverage their respective advantages, accelerate the implementation of cooperation, and achieve results as soon as possible. Both sides should work together to contribute to the development of Changsha as a global R&D center city and the creation of a world media arts capital, as well as to help Hunan accelerate the realization of the "Three Highlands, Four New Missions" vision.

Before the meeting, Deputy Director Xu Rong and her delegation visited the Xiangjiang Laboratory exhibition hall, as well as advanced laboratories and innovation centers focusing on smart robots, artificial intelligence, and the integration of science and culture.
