Chen Xiaohong and Her Delegation Visit Haogenping Village for Research and Guidance Session on Rural Revitalization Work

On December 13, Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, led a team to Haogenping Village, Yantouzhai Township, Guzhang County, for a research and guidance session on rural revitalization work. The research was attended by Liao Xiangyue, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and President of HUTB, Gan Dejian, member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, He Longde, Secretary of the HUTB Commission for Discipline Inspection, Yi Mianyang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, as well as heads of the CPC Committee Organization Department, the CPC Committee Office and Principal Office, the Publicity Department of CPC Committee, and other relevant departments. The research was accompanied by Teng Chaohui, Secretary of the CPC Guzhang County Committee, Zheng Liangwu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guzhang County Committee and Director of the CPC Guzhang County Committee Office, Nie Renjun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guzhang County Committee and Director of the Organization Department, Gao Xiaoli, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guzhang County Committee and Deputy County Chief of the People’s Government of Guzhang County, and Song Xiaobo, Deputy County Chief of the People’s Government of Guzhang County.
The exchange symposium was held in the conference room of the Party-Mass Service Center in Haogenping Village. At the meeting, Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, fully affirmed the results of HUTB's poverty alleviation team stationed in the village and expressed gratitude to the CPC Guzhang County Committee and County Government for their care and support of HUTB's efforts. Academician Chen Xiaohong put forward five work requirements for HUTB's poverty alleviation team stationed in the village: 1. Ensure a solid safety net and create a new blueprint for rural revitalization; 2. Strengthen industrial support and ignite the "accelerator" for rural revitalization; 3. Build a solid organizational foundation and strengthen the "leading force" for rural revitalization; 4. Focus on gathering talents and create a "strong force" for rural revitalization; 5. Deepen the role of education and cultivate the "new momentum" for rural revitalization. She emphasized that the relevant departments of HUTB should make every effort to provide full support and guarantee, and actively participate in and cooperate with the work team to carry out tasks efficiently and with high quality. She hopes that HUTB will strengthen communication and cooperation with the CPC Guzhang County Committee and County Government, jointly explore new models and paths for rural revitalization, and work together to help Guzhang County move towards a more prosperous future.
Teng Chaohui, Secretary of the CPC Guzhang County Committee, warmly welcomed Academician Chen Xiaohong and her delegation on behalf of the CPC Guzhang County Committee and County Government. He introduced the progress of rural revitalization work in Guzhang County, and sincerely thanked Academician Chen Xiaohong, HUTB, and Xiangjiang Laboratory for their strong support in areas such as industrial development, talent cultivation, and rural governance. He also stated that they would continue to provide solid support for HUTB's poverty alleviation team stationed in the village and jointly create a new chapter in rural revitalization.
Huang Chao, leader of HUTB's rural revitalization team, gave a detailed report on the achievements of HUTB's work team during their four years of stationed support in the village. Zhang Min, Secretary of the CPC Branch of Haogenping Village, introduced the progress and development achieved by the village since receiving support from HUTB. She expressed sincere gratitude for the genuine care and strong support from Academician Chen Xiaohong and HUTB. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges regarding the next steps for rural revitalization in Haogenping Village.
Haogenping Village is located in a remote, high-altitude area, making it a typical agricultural village in a cold mountainous region. During the research visit, the Chief Leaders of HUTB traveled to Haogenping Village, where they conducted on-site inspections of the road hardening project, the resettlement site for concentrated relocation, and village collective economic projects. They also visited and offered condolences to the village’s monitored households.
At the concentrated relocation and resettlement site for geological disaster-prone areas in the Gaopao Group of Haogenping Village, Academician Chen Xiaohong and Secretary Teng Chaohui jointly unveiled the plaque for the resettlement site. Representatives of the relocated villagers presented a banner of gratitude to HUTB, the CPC Guzhang County Committee and County Government, and China Everbright Group for their joint assistance. Academician Chen Xiaohong visited the resettlement site, engaged in friendly conversations with the villagers, and highly praised the achievements in the construction of the resettlement area.
At the village collective economy industrial demonstration park and the 1.5-kilometer hardened road site connecting the Tongyuping Group, Academician Chen Xiaohong learned about the development of the morel industry and the construction of transportation infrastructure. She acknowledged the progress made and provided further guidance on aspects such as industrial development, technological empowerment, and talent cultivation.
At the home of a monitored household in the village, Academician Chen Xiaohong warmly visited and extended her condolences to the villagers. On behalf of the CPC HUTB Committee, she presented a condolence donation and encouraged everyone to remain confident, overcome difficulties, and gradually achieve prosperity with the care and support of the Party and government.
Since May 2021, when the HUTB's Rural Revitalization Work Team was stationed in the village, with the strong concern of the CPC HUTB Committee and the support of CPC Committees and governments at all levels, the work team has continuously strengthened its ability to overcome difficulties and successfully completed various tasks related to rural revitalization. In the past three years, supporting units have invested more than RMB4 million and applied for project funding exceeding RMB12 million. The village's collective economy income has increased from RMB86,000 in 2020 to over RMB800,000 now. The village also successfully coped with the "6·30" major mountain flood natural disaster in 2023. In 2023, the Organization Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee assessed HUTB's rural revitalization work as "excellent," and the construction of Haogenping Village has witnessed new progress, new results, and new improvements.
