2024-11-01
On the morning of October 31, the faculty and staff tug-of-war competition, themed "Cultivating a spirit of cooperation and promoting the fighting spirit," was held at HUTB's Yangfan Stadium. Each branch Labour Union actively participated, with a total of 25 teams and nearly 500 athletes taking part in the competition. Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, attended the event and presented the championship trophy to the winning team.

Before the competition began, the fitness association presented a wonderful performance of the long fan dance titled "My Beautiful Homeland, My Motherland." Following that, all the athletes participated in a thorough warm-up session.

Each competing team was full of energy and ready to go. With the sound of the referee's whistle, the competition officially began. The athletes on both sides tightly gripped the rope, their feet planted firmly on the ground, their bodies leaning back. The team members worked together with one mind and strength, desperately pulling the rope toward their own side. The competition frequently reached a heated stage, with the center of the rope swaying back and forth between the two teams' finish lines. The audience was also captivated by the intense atmosphere, with cheers and shouts of encouragement rising and falling, echoing throughout the venue.

After intense competition, the School of Microelectronics and Physics won first place in the tug-of-war competition, thanks to their excellent teamwork and strong performance. The Second Branch Labour Union of the Administrative Department, the Branch Labour Union of the School of Art & Design, the Branch Labour Union of the Logistics Management Service Center, the Sixth Branch Labour Union of the Administrative Department, the Branch Labour Union of the School of Resources and Environment, the Fifth Branch Labour Union of the Administrative Department, and the Branch Labour Union of the School of Business Administration won second to eighth place, respectively.

This tug-of-war competition enriched the extracurricular cultural life of the university's faculty and staff, fostered teamwork and a spirit of perseverance, and showcased the unity, positivity, and fighting spirit of the faculty and staff at HUTB. (Reported by the Labour Union)
