HUTB Faculty and Staff Badminton Team Wins Provincial Championship

From November 2 to 3, the 2024 Hunan Civil Servant System Officials and Staff Badminton Tournament (Changsha) kicked off with great enthusiasm. Over 40 teams and nearly 500 participants competed in intense matches. HUTB's faculty and staff badminton team emerged victorious from the group stage, overcoming numerous challenges. It ultimately won the championship in the mixed team event of the corporate and public institutions group.
In this mixed team event, each match consisted of five games, with each game played to 15 points. The team with the highest cumulative score across the five games was declared the winner. The format tested the overall strength of the teams and required every player to fight for every point and give their best in every rally. The university's faculty and staff badminton team members approached the competition with the spirit of "never giving up until the shuttlecock hits the ground, striving for victory to bring honor to the university." With powerful smashes, stunning dives, and intense efforts, they played with determination and flair, earning loud applause from the audience. Their performance showcased the excellent image of our university.
The achievement of this championship is a result of the CPC HUTB Committee placing great emphasis on the development of sports and improving the physical fitness of faculty and staff in recent years. It is another success of the "Sports HUTB" initiative and a vivid demonstration of the unity and determination of the entire university community in striving for excellence and top achievements in all endeavors. The team members unanimously expressed that this championship is a tribute to the university's 75th anniversary!
This competition was guided by the Hunan Sports Bureau, hosted by the Hunan Sports Industry Association, and organized by the Hunan Badminton Association, among others. It aims to implement the national strategy of building a strong sporting nation and promoting mass fitness, as well as to advance the development of mass fitness. The event was organized in a strictly regulated, efficient, and orderly manner, receiving unanimous praise from the participating athletes. The Labour Union and the Sports and Health Promotion Committee provided strong support for the participating team members.
