HUTB Hosts Faculty and Staff Badminton Mixed Team Competition

From October 31 to November 1, the 2024 HUTB faculty and staff badminton mixed team competition was held at the Lingnan Stadium. Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, attended the event.

During the competition, the athletes held their rackets with energy and enthusiasm, displaying fierce determination. Through sharp smashes, tenacious defensive blocks, and precise shot placement, they showcased excellent badminton skills and a vibrant sportsmanship.

The participating teams upheld the sportsmanship of "friendship first, competition second," working together in unity, coordinating offense and defense, fighting for every point, and competing until the very last rally. After intense competition, the Branch Labour Union of the School of Mathematics & Statistics won the championship of this year's faculty and staff badminton mixed team competition. The Branch Labour Union of the Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies and the Branch Labour Union of the School of Business Administration won the second and third places, respectively. The Sixth Branch Labour Union of the Administrative Department, the Branch Labour Union of the School of Intelligent Engineering and Manufacturing, the Branch Labour Union of the School of Finance, the Branch Labour Union of the School of Foreign Languages, and the Branch Labour Union of the School of Microelectronics and Physics ranked fourth to eighth, respectively. The School of Sports and Health Branch Labour Union was awarded the Special Contribution Award.

The successful organization of this faculty and staff badminton competition not only provided a platform for faculty and staff to showcase their skills and improve through friendly competition, but also enhanced communication and friendship among colleagues and schools. It fully demonstrated the unity, hard work, and positive spirit of our university's faculty and staff. (Reported by the Labour Union)
