2024-12-06
On December 3, HUTB invited Officer Luo Minghua, the police stationed in HUTB from Wangchengpo Subdistrict Police Station, and special police officers from the Public Security Bureau of Yuelu District to conduct a "Guarding Campus Safety, Building a Counterterrorism Fortress" lecture and emergency drill on counterterrorism and riot control safety knowledge on both the north and south campuses.
In the lecture, Officer Luo Minghua explained in a clear and simple manner the key points of safety precautions and specific methods for handling emergencies, earning rounds of applause from the faculty and students present. In the emergency drill, the special police officers from the Public Security Bureau of Yuelu District introduced the methods of using various anti-riot equipment and demonstrated how to subdue assailants using these tools. In addition, a "sudden incident" was simulated on-site. The security personnel immediately activated the emergency response plan, evacuated the faculty and students, and successfully subdued the "knife-wielding assailant" using anti-riot equipment.
HUTB also carried out a variety of counterterrorism and riot control safety knowledge promotion activities across both the north and south campuses through special seminars, a counterterrorism and riot control signature wall, distribution of flyers, and other methods. These efforts aimed to raise the self-protection awareness of all faculty and students and strengthen the defense for campus safety. (Reported by Zhang Ying from the Security Division)
