Chief Leaders Inspect Campus Construction Projects

On the morning of September 30, Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and CAE Academician, along with Yang Liangqi and Gan Dejian, members of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice Presidents of HUTB, Yi Mianyang, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, and Hou Junjun, member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, visited the construction site of new projects on the south campus. They inspected the progress of the Medical and Health Center (University Hospital), Cultural and Creative Center, the corridor between the Library and Xiande Student Apartment, as well as the surrounding wall of the Commercial Machinery Factory community. Relevant department heads accompanied the inspection.
At the Medical and Health Center (University Hospital), Chief Leaders inspected the hospital environment, medical facilities and equipment, and various medical projects. They inquired about the operational status of different departments in the hospital and warmly visited and comforted the faculty and students receiving medical care. At the Cultural and Creative Center located on the fourth floor of the Modern Logistics Industry-Education Integration Center, Chief Leaders inspected the product displays, exhibition area layout, functional spaces, and product development. They also kindly inquired about the experiences and feelings of the faculty and students. In the corridor between the Library and Xiande Student Apartment, as well as the perimeter of the Commercial Machinery Factory community, Chief Leaders inspected the beautification and greening effects of the exterior walls and the stairways. The pleasing new green walls and safe, convenient stairs enhance the ease of travel for faculty and students, while also making the campus more beautiful.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong gave high praise for the progress of each project. She stated that the university consistently upholds the philosophy of striving for excellence and perfection in campus construction. The university actively aims to create a "Cultural HUTB," "Artistic HUTB," and "happy HUTB," wholeheartedly working to address practical needs and improve conditions for faculty and students. The completion of these projects will further enhance the happiness of the university community. At the same time, Secretary Chen Xiaohong also urged for the continued improvement of relevant construction projects. She instructed the relevant departments to focus closely on the goal of creating a refined and beautiful campus, emphasizing the importance of taking practical actions and showing responsibility. She called for collective efforts to make the campus even more beautiful and happier.
It is reported that the Medical and Health Center (University Hospital) has undergone quality upgrades and renovations, resulting in a more spacious and bright environment, with more prominent medical signage. Faculty and students can now complete general check-ups and tests more conveniently in a "one-stop" manner. In addition to the basic medical services, new departments have been added, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Health Examination, and Preventive Healthcare. Special services for TCM therapies, health check-ups, vaccinations, and dental care have also been introduced, enabling better support for the health of faculty and students.
The newly established Cultural and Creative Center is a comprehensive cultural space that integrates creativity, learning, and leisure. Upholding the vision of "Inspiring Creativity, Connecting the Future," the center aims to foster a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as cultivate students' innovative abilities and aesthetic interests. The center features cultural and creative stores, an exhibition hall of creative studios, café, inspiration hub, and reading corner, all of which are well-equipped, rich in resources, and beautifully displayed. It will provide faculty and students with a unique environment that blends traditional culture with modern design concepts.
The passageway between the Library and the Xiande Student Apartment, as well as the surrounding wall of the Commercial Machinery Factory community, has been beautified and landscaped to reflect the concept of green environmental protection. A staircase has been constructed in the passageway connecting the Xiande Student Apartment, providing students with an additional entrance and exit to the campus. The wall along the passageway has been transformed into a cultural wall showcasing the university’s ethos and motto, encouraging students to remember the spirit of these values and strive to become high-quality individuals with a global perspective, a sense of national pride, professional competence, and a compassionate heart.
