In his speech, Vice President Hou Junjun pointed out that HUTB has a long-standing cultural heritage and profound history. The thousand-year-old tradition of Hunan cuisine not only conveys the flavors of the region but also embodies the core spirit of Hunan people: "fearless of hardship and always striving to overcome challenges." This event represents an interdisciplinary exploration and promotes the industry-education-research integration. It helps students deepen their understanding not only through textbooks but also through cultural experiences, enhancing their sense of pride in Hunan's culture.

Currently, Hunan cuisine has become the fastest-growing and largest regional cuisine. The purpose of the "Taste of Hunan" event is to promote Hunan cuisine to "enter key scenes, enter the public domain, and reach across the country and the world," allowing the younger generation to gain a deeper understanding of Hunan culinary traditions through tasting Hunan dishes, and further promoting the culture of Hunan cuisine.
