HUTB Holds "Building Dreams at HUTB, Pushing Forward with Determination" Table Tennis Team Competition for Faculty and Staff

In order to promote the national fitness campaign at HUTB, improve the competitive level of table tennis, and activate campus cultural life, on November 16, HUTB held a faculty table tennis team competition with the theme of "Building Dreams at HUTB, Pushing Forward with Determination" at the Yangfan Stadium on south campus. This event was organized by HUTB's Sports and Health Promotion Committee, jointly hosted by the Labour Union and the School of Sports and Health.
In the morning, the faculty and staff team competition officially kicked off. Participants from various branch labour unions entered the venue with confident and energetic steps. They warmed up by the tables, eager to show their skills. The first phase of the team competition was a round-robin format, followed by the second phase, which was an elimination tournament.
The competition officially began, and the participants immediately threw themselves into the event with great enthusiasm and high levels of motivation, fully demonstrating their fighting spirit and determination. The table tennis competition not only tested the players' table tennis skills but also assessed their ability to react to unexpected situations. The players gave their all, displaying their exceptional skills and perfect teamwork. Every shout of determination, every slice, loop, and powerful smash fully embodied the sporting spirit of "faster, higher, stronger, and more united." After the competition, the players from both sides praised and encouraged each other, reflecting the competition philosophy of "friendship first, competition second." The atmosphere on-site was lively, with spectators attentively watching each match, enthusiastically clapping and cheering to support the players. The referees were fair and impartial, while the volunteers maintained order and provided warm and thoughtful service.
In the afternoon, the second stage of the competition began. After the first stage, the players advancing to the finals were full of momentum, determined to fight for victory. The atmosphere on-site was intense and heated, with the cheers and applause of the audience rising and falling. One player launched a fierce attack, with every serve coming at unpredictable angles that left the opponent struggling to respond. The opponent, however, remained as steady as a mountain, with airtight defense, consistently returning the ball with perfect precision. As the match progressed, the score see-sawed back and forth, and the tense atmosphere filled the entire venue. After the competition concluded, the teachers from the School of Sports and Health took to the stage, showcasing their exceptional skills in a thrilling exhibition match for the audience.
The team competition of this event is divided into five categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. After intense competition, the branch labour union of the School of Foreign Languages won first place in the team overall score; the branch labour union of the Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies took second place; and the branch labour union of the School of Mathematics & Statistics secured third place. The branch labour union of the School of International Business, the branch labour union of the School of Art & Design, the branch labour union of the School of Accounting, the branch labour union of the School of Intelligent Engineering and Manufacturing, and the branch labour union of the School of Microelectronics and Physics earned fourth through eighth places, respectively. This competition not only showcased the hardworking and positive spirit of our faculty and staff, but also promoted communication and friendship among them. At the same time, it injected new vitality into the development of "Sports HUTB" and "Happy HUTB."
