HUTB Participates in Thematic Events of 4th CAETE
2025-06-20
On June 13, the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) was held at the Changsha International Conference Center. Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, led a delegation to attend the event and, as a special guest, participated in two thematic activities that day. She delivered keynote speech on topics such as enhancing quality standards connectivity and think tank construction between China and Africa, contributing "HUTB Wisdom" to the deepening China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.

In the morning, at the thematic event on the connectivity of quality infrastructure between China and Africa, Vice President Zhang Ling delivered a keynote speech titled "Quality Silk Road, Harvest Corridor: Building the China-Africa Agricultural Value Chain through Language and Culture." Taking Hunan Province's geographical indication agricultural products as her entry point, she systematically elaborated on the pivotal role of language services in the localization of agricultural product translations and the internationalization of quality certifications. With typical cases such as Anhua Dark Tea, she proposed leveraging language and culture as the plow and quality standards as the seeds, embedding language and culture into the very DNA of the product value chain to empower products for global expansion. In the afternoon, the First Seminar on Deepening China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation and Think Tank Construction, hosted by the China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council was held. Vice President Zhang Ling proposed the creation of a "government-guided, university-supported, and business-engaged" think tank alliance, to promote the transformation of research achievements into trade practices.
Over recent years, as a Chinese member institution of the "China-Africa Consortium of Universities" exchange mechanism, HUTB has leveraged platforms such as the Hunan Provincial Base for the Dissemination and Promotion of Industrial Culture in China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation and the Hunan International Communication Center for Geographical Indication Products. Focusing on the field of "media communication and national image," the university has dedicated efforts to narrating the industrial cultural stories of Hunan's geographical indication products, strengthening the cultivation of specialized talent, and promoting international mutual recognition and protection of these products. It has persistently decoded the cultural DNA of products, deepened research on Africa, and contributed to Hunan's efforts in building itself into a hub of reform and opening-up in inland regions.
