HUTB Holds 28th Athletics Sports Meet

The pounding of drums urged athletes forward as students strode with confidence, showcasing their competitive edge. From October 31 to November 1, the university's 2025 Autumn-Winter Sports Season and the 28th Athletics Sports Meet were held at the Zhuifeng Track and Field on the North Campus. The CPC HUTB Committee places high importance on building "Sports HUTB," consistently adhering to the philosophy of "health first, education fundamental." In recent years, it has continuously increased resource investment, vigorously enhanced the quality of physical education and teaching, and promoted the high-quality development of sports-for-health initiatives, establishing "Sports HUTB" as a vibrant institutional brand.

Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, delivered an opening speech and wished the sports meet a complete success. Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, presided over the opening ceremony and announced the commencement of the games. Zhao Hua, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, attended the closing ceremony and presented awards to the winning groups.

At the opening ceremony, the national and university flag guard teams marched with dignified and spirited bearing, demonstrating a trailblazing and pioneering spirit. The colorful flag squad moved with vigorous and unified steps, their vibrant banners fluttering in the wind, symbolizing the boundless vitality of youth. The referee contingent advanced with steady and synchronized strides, poised to fulfill their duties and ensure impartial adjudication. The performances by the contingents of various secondary schools were full of vitality and spectacular. Slogans such as "Integrating Digital Intelligence, Exploring the Unknown; Youth Chasing Dreams, Strong and Resolute Action," "Digital Wave, Leading the Times," and "Intelligence Converging in Hunan, Creating and Transforming the Future" resounded powerfully across the venue. The brilliant cultural displays reflecting the characteristics of various disciplines won enthusiastic applause from teachers and students present, igniting a fervent atmosphere. After the assembly was completed, the national flag and the university flag were raised successively, with all teachers and students standing solemnly in respectful attention, singing the national anthem and the university song.

Athlete representatives pledged to participate in the sports meet with enthusiastic and positive attitudes, abide by the competition rules, strive with tenacity, and compete at their best level. Referee representatives vowed to follow the commands of the organizing committee, adhere to the competition rules and disciplinary standards for referees, and ensure fair adjudication and the smooth progress of the events.

Following the opening ceremony, the sports meet officially commenced amidst warm applause and cheers. This year's event featured three categories: men's group, women's group, and team relay events, comprising a total of 33 competition items. On the track, athletes streaked like arrows released from a bow, constantly surpassing themselves and pushing limits, interpreting the essence of sportsmanship through speed and perseverance. The trajectory of the shot put was no longer just a parabola but a fleeting brilliance of condensed power; the arc cleared in high jump was not merely a curve over the bar but resembled the fearless wings of youth, conversing with the sky at its highest point; the mark crossed in long jump was more than an imprint in the sandpit—it was the distance measured by strides toward dreams, a posture frozen in the effort of a leap... Through their striving figures, the athletes transformed the venue into a scroll painting of youth.

During the event, the university also held a college student aerobics (dance) competition. The judging was based on four criteria: execution accuracy, synchronization, choreography suitability, and performance impact, along with evaluation by the chief judge. The total score determined the final rankings. Nineteen teams took the stage in succession, each displaying breathtaking skills. Their fluid movements unfolded like verses of youth across the green field, while every lift and rotation embodied tangible team synergy. On this competitive platform, sweat and smiles intertwined, showcasing not only technical excellence but also the true essence of unity and mutual respect. The young performers merged strength and beauty, transforming athletic spirit into captivating artistic expression; their hearts beat as one with the rhythm, allowing dreams to blossom through collaboration.
