Speaker’s Profile:
Xiao Ming, anational first-level conductor, a specialist receiving the special allowance from the State Council, an outstanding expert of the Ministry of Culture, a director of the China Symphony Federation, and the vice chairman of Hunan Musicians Association. Hecurrently serves as the artistic director and chief conductor of the Changsha Symphony Orchestra, and the honorary director of the Belgorod Symphony Orchestra in Russia.
As a guest conductor, Xiao Ming has had successful performances with many domestic orchestras. As one of the most influential conductors in China, Xiao Ming was invited to perform in many important European troupes and opera houses. He ishailed as "Music Messenger from the East" by Western media.
Xiao Ming, heading theChangsha Symphony Orchestra,has visited the United States, Germany, Russia and other countries,with great success in performance wherever they went.
He onceserved as a judge formany music competitions at home and abroad. Xiao Ming also serves as a guest professor and master tutor in more than ten colleges and universities, including Central South University, Hunan Normal University, Hunan University of Technology and Business. For decades, he has been practicing the artistic pursuitof “highbrowmusicwill gain more and more admirers", striving for spreading elegant music to the general public.
