Introduction of the Speaker:

Professor Zhang Zhiming, currently the Distinguished Professor of “Chang Jiang Scholars Program” of the Ministry of Education, Post A of distinguished humanist in Renmin University of China, member of Acadeic Degree Committee, second-level professor, doctoral supervisor, is the (honorary) dean of Faculty of Law in East China Normal University, chairman of professor committee of Faculty of Law, and director of Center for Basic Law Teaching and Research. He has additional posts as the vice president of Research Council of Chinese Legislative Association, and member of Expert Committee on case guiding of the Supreme People’s Court, enjoying special government allowance from the State Council and elected into the New Century Talents Program of the Ministry of Education. His main research fields include: basic concepts of jurisprudence, legal methods and legal profession, rule of law and public policy, judicial principles and judicial system. He has served as the editor and deputy senior editor of Social Sciences in China, researcher of the Institute of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, director of the Legal Theory Research Office and deputy editor of Chinese Journal of Law, member of Committee on Assessing Professional Title of Institute of Law, member of Academic Degrees Committee, member of Academic Committee, the first convenor of Professor Committee, professor of the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, doctoral supervisor, vice president and member of the Party Committee of National Prosecutors College of P.R.C., chief editor of Journal of National Prosecutors College of P.R.C., executive chief editor of The Jurist. He has been awarded with the 1st “Husheng Youth Academic Award”, the first prize of the 2nd Excellent Social Science Achievement of National Youth, Outstanding Youth of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the third prize of the 4th Qian Duansheng Law Research Achievement, and the 4th Nomination Award by the Government for China Publishing, etc., and his research achievements were selected into the Achievements Library of National Philosophy and Social Science.
