Introduction of the speaker: Lv Xin is the associate professor of the School of Information System and Management, National University of Defense Technology. He won the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Youth of National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2015. And he is the expert of the major research plan of Natural Science Foundation of China. Lv Xin won the doctor’s degree of the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. The main research direction is the analysis and mining technology of mobile big data and network big data, complex network structure and dynamics, sampling theory and method, etc., and the research papers have been published in Nature, PNAS, PLOSMED, JRSSA, branch journal of Nature - Scientific Reports, Social Networks and other comprehensive, medical sciences, mathematical sciences and sociological sciences SCI/SSCI periodicals, and reported by lots of media such as BBC, New York Times, Science, Santa Fe Institute, etc. The research achievements in the field of mobile big data are rated by 2013 MIT Technology Review as one of “2013 Pioneering Technology”; He won the highest prize of the first prize of the 2014 Chinese Conference on Complex Networks Visual Competition and MWC GLOMO Award 2016. He also provided the relevant departments of the United Nations such as UNOCHA and WHO with consulting reports about Haiti earthquake and cholera (2010-2013), Bangladesh typhoon Mahasen (2013), Ebola outbreak of West African countries (2014), Nepal earthquake (2015) and other international issues. Meanwhile, he also is the founder, member and chief analyst of international non-profit fund Flowminder.
