Brief Introduction of Academician Chen Xiaohong

Chen Xiaohong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expert in Management Science and Engineering Management, President of Hunan University of Commerce, Honorary Dean of Business School of Central South University, Professor, PhD Supervisor, Member of National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Academician Chen currently serves as a committee member of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a committee member of Discipline Assessment Group of Degree Committee of State Council, Director and Chair Professor of first-level National Key Principle “Management Science and Engineering”, “Innovation Group” of National Natural Science Foundation, and “Cheung Kong Scholars Innovation Team” of the Ministry of Education, Vice Chairman of Society of Management Science and Engineering of China, winner of Fudan Management Excellence Award and Guangzhao Science and Technology Award. She received her Ph.D. degree in Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1999, and the National Outstanding Youth Fund in 2001. She is also a first and second-level of Cross-century Academic Leader of the first batch “National Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand Talents Project” in 1999, and a National Excellent Teacher.
The academician has long been engaged in research in Decision theory and decision support systems, Big data analysis, SME financing, Resource conserving & Environment friendly Society and Ecological civilization. She established the “integrated dynamic intelligent quantification” engineering management theory and method system, built a series of green engineering standards such as Two-oriented Standards Index System, proposed a new model of green engineering collaborative management, and developed environmental big data analysis decision-making technology and platform. Academician Chen has made outstanding contributions to the development of management and decision science, efficient and green development of resources, and precise governance of environment in China.
As the first accomplisher, she has obtained 14 national and ministerial (provincial) awards of scientific research such as second prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress, first prize for Outstanding Achievements of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Ministry of Education, first prize in Science and Technology in Chinese Universities, first prize for Hunan Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress. In teaching, she has got 2 second prizes for National Teaching Achievements.
Up to now, academician Chen has published over 230 papers retrieved by SCI and SSCI in important academic journals at home and abroad, among which more than 40 belong to the top 1% of ESI highly-cited papers. In 2018, she was elected on the list of “Global Highly Cited Scientists”. She has also published 18 monographs, received 21 National Invention Patents and 22 Computer Software Copyrights. What’s more, she has supervised a large number of outstanding doctorates and masters.
