Zhang Haitao, ViceDean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, second-level professor, specially-appointed professor from Central China, doctoral supervisor, young scholar of ChangJiang Scholars Programmeof Ministry of Education, national top-notch young talent, winner of National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars; engaged in the research of swarmintelligence and autonomous unmanned swarming boats, and presided over more than 20 projects such as the Joint Key Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Excellent Young Scientists Fund and major research programs; published more than 100 SCI papers in Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature Communications, Automatica, IEEE TACand other journals, including 55 Automatica and IEEE transactions as the first or correspondingauthor, and wrote/co-edited 3 English monographs published bySpringer, the results listed in the research highlights of Nature Physics in 2016, with 25 authorized invention patents; the research results of autonomous unmanned swarming boats have been applied to immersed tunnel detection of Shenzhen-Zhongshan bridge, waterway monitoring of Pearl River Estuary port, marine resources detection, pollution control, etc., and have been appraised as internationally leading by Chinese Association of Automation; the achievements were reported by the State Council and the Ministry of National Defense in official website; won the first prize of natural science in Hubei Province, the Innovation Award of Industry-University-Research Cooperation in China and the Gold Award of Geneva International Exhibitionof Inventionsas the leader, served as editorial board member of SCI international journal IEEE Trans. Systems, Man, Cybernetics Systems, IEEE Trans. Circuits and Systems II, and editorial board member of important international conferences such as IEEE CDC, ACC and IFAC; gave a conference report at the Sino-American Youth Science Frontier Conferenceat the invitation of the president of American Academy of Sciences.
