HUTB’s Enlisted Student Joins 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba) for Mission

On the early morning of December 14, 350 officers and soldiers from the first echelon of the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba) departed from Zhengzhou and headed to the mission area to begin their 12-month peacekeeping mission. Liu Chaoyang, a student from the School of Finance of our university, Class 1701, for 2017 batch, Financial Major, enrolled in the military service in September 2020. Due to his outstanding military and political qualities, he successfully went through a series of selections and training assessments and became one of the honorable peacekeeping soldiers.
It is understood that the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba) is mainly composed of a brigade of the PLA 81st Group Army and is mainly responsible for tasks such as area surveillance and patrol, armed escorts, emergency response, and humanitarian rescue in the mission area.
“When we go abroad, we represent Chinese soldiers, and every action we take is related to the image of our country and army. We will definitely adhere to the standards of being ‘more stringent than at home, adhere to higher standards than usual, and stronger than our allies’, and resolutely complete this peacekeeping mission to bring glory to our motherland and add luster to our troops.” Since joining the military, Liu Chaoyang has demonstrated unwavering political stance, upright ideological conduct, and excellent theoretical literacy. He is dedicated to learning, hard training, and skilled in uniting comrades. He has participated in various major tasks in Zhurihe and Xizang, receiving unanimous praise from leaders at all levels. Since the beginning of this year, Comrade Liu has actively responded to organizational calls and continued to deepen combat readiness. In early September, he was selected as a soldier of the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba), representing the motherland and the people's army.
