[People.cn] 14th China Engineering Management Forum Opens in Changsha to Promote Goal of Carbon Peaking & Carbon Neutrality

People.cnChangsha, Nov. 13- In the era of digital economy, it's a crucial means to optimizing the industrial structure through accelerating the digital, low-carbon and green transformation of engineering management. It's also an important way to effectively promote the realization of the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. On the morning of 12th, November, the 2022 International Forum on Engineering Science and Technology and the 14th China Engineering Management Forum opened in Changsha. The theme is “Major Engineering Project and Engineering Management under the Goal of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality.”
The forum is hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and co-organized by the Engineering Management Division of the CAE, the Division of Management Science of the NFSC, Central South University and Hunan University of Technology and Business (HUTB). More than 70 academicians, over 100 renowned experts, entrepreneurs and over 4,000 representatives of college teachers and students will attend the two-day event.
"This forum not only embodies the inheritance and persistence of our original aspiration, but is also in line with Hunan's mission and actions to demonstrate its role and contribution in achieving the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality," said Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician, Director of the Xiangjiang Laboratory and Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, at the opening ceremony. Chen said the forum will focus on the theme of “Major Engineering Project and Engineering Management Under the Goal of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality” and host 55 high-level academic report meetings highlighting topics such as major engineering management theory and methods, low-carbon and intelligent technologies and application in major engineering projects, and frontier issues in the fields of digital engineering and data intelligence, to systematically study the management practice and future direction of major projects under the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
"Digital, low-carbon and green transformation of engineering management is an important way to promote the realization of the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and promote the construction of a community of human and nature," said Wu Manqing, CAE Academician, a member of the Leading Party Group and Vice President of the CAE, at the opening ceremony.He called on everyone to contribute their wisdom to promoting the development, popularization and application of low-carbon technology in major engineering projects, making key scientific and technological breakthroughs in the green and low-carbon development of major energy projects, and innovating major engineering management theory, and strive to provide strong engineering science and technology and management support for realizing the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
The China Engineering Management Forum is a national conference to study the theory and practice of engineering management in China. It also discusses the current situation and key issues of engineering management in China, and plays an important role in promoting academic exchanges and scientific development of China's engineering management. Initiated in 2007, the forum has been successfully held 13 times, with more than 450 participants.
