HUTB Awarded the Title of "Advanced Unit" in 2023 Annual Provincial Assessment and Evaluation of Peace Construction

Recently, the General Office of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the General Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province jointly issued the Notification on the 2023 Annual Assessment and Evaluation of Peace Construction. Our university was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit" in the 2023 annual provincial assessment and evaluation of peace construction. Only 10 universities in the entire province received this honor.
In 2023, the CPC HUTB Committee deeply studied and implemented the important instructions from General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding campus safety and stability. They attached great importance to the construction of a safe campus, coordinated university development with safety, and strived to build a harmonious and safe teaching and educational environment. With the goal of promoting the construction of a "safe campus," focusing on daily safety management, and using safety assessment as a key point, the university concentrated on the "five focuses" to create a safe campus. Focused on top-level design, more than 10 work systems, responsibilities, and plans related to campus safety and stability were formulated to establish a long-term safety responsibility system. Focusing on the construction of "three defenses", the university has invested nearly RMB 6 million to build an integrated smart campus security and fire-fighting management platform that combines high-point AR, forest fire prevention, police-university coordination, and human-vehicle tracking functions. We have also constructed a campus safety command center that is technologically advanced and first-class within the province. Focusing on identifying and rectifying hidden dangers, the university has diligently completed more than 20 tasks assigned by the higher level, such as "winning the battle for work safety." We have strictly implemented the responsibility for identifying and rectifying safety hazards at “4 levels” and carried out "early morning actions." Throughout the year, a total of 60 safety hazards were identified and rectified, all of which were completely addressed. Focusing on standardized management, the university has persistently carried out regular construction of fire-fighting facilities. We have also adhered to standardized management of campus traffic and coordinated efforts to improve the security environment. With the support of the first "Fengqiao style police room" in Changsha's universities, we have achieved the management goal of "zero incidents, zero accidents, and zero violations." Focusing on education and drills, the university has organized more than 20 activities throughout the year, including fire safety training and drills, emergency first aid, and counter-terrorism and anti-riot exercises. These activities are characterized by thematic relevance, multi-dimensional approach, and distinctive features. With the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the campus crime rate has continued to decline. Teachers and students have full confidence in campus safety, with a satisfaction rate of over 95% for the effectiveness of the university's safe campus construction efforts.
In the next stage, the university's safety construction work will take this as a new starting point, focusing on the theme of "being proactive, seeking transformation, strengthening connotation, and promoting leaps." We will continue to tackle difficulties, further consolidate the achievements of construction, implement security work effectively, ensure the safety of teachers and students, and maintain campus stability.
