HUTB Holds 2025 International Student Mentor Meeting and Academic Orientation Lecture

On the afternoon of October 28, the university held the 2025 International Student Mentor Meeting and Academic Orientation Lecture in Conference Room 401 of the Second Office Building. Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, attended the meeting. Also present were Du Yan, Dean of the Graduate School; Wang Ren, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office; staff from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office; all international student supervisors; and master's degree international students of the class of 2025. The meeting was presided over by Jin Min, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.


At the meeting, Vice President Zhang Ling extended a sincere welcome to the international students from around the world. She shared three hopes for them: first, to cherish the learning opportunity, delve deeply into their professional fields, proactively communicate with their supervisors, and strive for academic excellence; second, to actively integrate into campus life, engage with Chinese culture, and become ambassadors of friendly exchanges between China and other countries; third, to set ambitious goals, align personal growth with the trends of the times, and contribute their youthfulness to building a community with a shared future for humanity.

Director Wang Ren introduced the enrollment scale, student composition, and training objectives for the 2025 cohort of international students, highlighting the university's achievements in international education. Dean Du Yan, focusing on the theme of "ideological guidance and fostering virtue through education," outlined clear requirements for the responsibilities of academic supervisors.

Following the meeting, Associate Professor Zhang Junying from the School of Economy & Trade, representing the international student supervisors, delivered a specialized academic orientation lecture. She provided the international students with an overview of their academic programs, training objectives, and educational structure, offering detailed explanations on curriculum design, credit requirements, compulsory training components, as well as the entire process of thesis writing, graduation, and degree conferment criteria. The lecture, characterized by its substantial content and strong relevance, laid a solid foundation for the international students to successfully commence their academic journey.
