[“Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship” Forum of Lushan Lecture] Xiao Zhixiong, Chairman of Hunan Xinfa Food Co., Ltd. Gives a Lecture in HUTB

On June 1, Xiao Zhixiong, Chairman of Hunan Xinfa Food Co., Ltd. and the alumnus in 2013, was invited to give a lecture, themed by the “Sharing of the Entrepreneurial Experience of “Prince of Day Lily” - Outstanding Model of Employment and Entrepreneurship for College Students in Hunan”, on the "Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship" forum of Lushan Lecture in HUTB. The lecture was composed of two sessions, of which one was held in the F201 Lecture Hall, Lezhi Building in south campus, and the another was in the multi-function lecture hall of library, and was attended by the representatives of teachers and students of HUTB.
In the lecture, Chairman Xiao Zhixiong reviewed his initial intention of choosing day lily as his own entrepreneurial project. For a dream of starting a business, he studied solidly, and participated in the social practices actively to enrich the professional knowledge and exercise the management ability in the HUTB. When talking about the choice of entrepreneurship direction, he elaborated on his main goals when starting a business: realize the social benefits and stick to hometown. In the interactive part of the lecture, the students on the scene raised their hands to ask questions one by one. Chairman Xiao Zhixiong gave detailed answers and directions. This lecture provided students with an opportunity to have face-to-face communication with outstanding alumni entrepreneur, and provided the valuable experience and reference for students who are interested in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Xiao Zhixiong, an alumnus of HUTB in 2013, the chairman of Hunan Xinfa Food Co., Ltd. and the representative of the 15th Hengyang Municipal People's Congress, has won the title of "Advanced Individual" in the poverty alleviation base of Hengyang Municipal People's Congress, and the "Excellent Typical Person" in the employment and entrepreneurship of college students in Hunan. The project Day Lily Is More Than Vegetableled by him has won the first prize of the special poverty alleviation group of the 4th"China Wing of Creation" Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition. Hunan Xinfa Food Co., Ltd. is the only national key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization and a national high-tech enterprise in the day lily industry. It has established the first day lily museum in China, led the revision of the national standard for day lily, developed the first large-scale drying equipment for day lily in China, and won 10 national invention patents.
