HUTB Holds the 9th Football Match of “Xincheng Cup”

On the afternoon of May 23, with the whistle of the referee, the men's final of the 9th "Xincheng Cup" football match of HUTB officially started. After the fierce group matches, cross matches and semi-finals, the teams from the School of Finance and the School of Accounting beat the rest of other teams and met in the final. Before the opening of the competition, all the players, referees, coaches and spectators stood up and observed a moment of silence for the death of Academician Yuan Longping to express their deep grief.
In the match, the players of both sides tried their best to fight for each other without any reservation. After 80 minutes of fierce fighting, the score was 2-2. Wu Xin, No.33 of the School of Finance, and Jiang Qingbo, No.99 of the School of Accounting, scored twice each, pushing the match to another climax-penalty shootout. In the end, the School of Finance won the penalty shootout and the final championship. Previously, the women's final ended on May 20th, and the competition was as intense as the men's final. In the end, the School of Literature & Journalism won the women's championship.
