School of Tourism Management Holds an Alumni Scholarship Award Ceremony

On the morning of May 29, Alumni Scholarship Award Ceremony of the School of Tourism Management was held in Chufengxuan Auditorium, attended by Zhang Hong, member of the Party committee of school and director of alumni office, representatives of outstanding alumni and representatives of teachers and students, and presided over by Guo Yihong, Vice Party Secretary of school.
The ceremony kicked off with the magnificent national anthem. Li Jilin, Party Secretary of school, paid the high tribute to the loving alumni who made the donation generously on behalf of the school. He expressed the hope that the rewarded and subsidized students from the School of Tourism Management will always be grateful, make unremitting efforts towards higher goals, repay the kindness of alumni and the concern of leaders with outstanding achievements, actively give back to the society, and strive to be a newcomer to the times who can assume the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.
Alumnus Luo Taiping expressed the hope that the students could make persistent efforts and forge ahead, and strive to be the "Four New People" who can assume the great responsibility of the times. Alumnus Tang Weihua stressed that three sentences shall be kept in mind when embarking on the road to success: first, keep in good condition; second, start from small things; third, make a good plan for life. Alumnus Deng Liping congratulated the award-winning students and sent a message to the students to study hard and make progress; alumnus Zuo Hongyu shared the experiences and expressed the gratitude to HUTB and teachers. Representatives of award-winning students and subsidized students Yu Yujuan and Liao Huiling made a speech respectively. They expressed the heartfelt thanks to the alumni and said that they would make progress with the expectations of the alumni and HUTB in the future.
Director Zhang Hong encouraged everyone, hoping that the award-winning students and the students present here could cherish their time, study hard, show kindness and repay the society, and expressed his best wishes to the college, alumni and students.
He Tianxiang, ViceDean of school, introduced the school in terms of the development history, future development direction and training plan. He indicated that the future goal of school is to train the innovative, entrepreneurial, applied and compound talents. He hoped that the alumni would continue to support the development of the school; all outstanding alumni can give strong support to the employment work of the college; and the students will study hard and aspire to give back to HUTB.
It is understood that in order to train the top-notch talents in innovation and entrepreneurship and assist the poor students to successfully complete their studies, the School of Tourism Management has proposed to create the Alumni Scholarship to reward and subsidize the students of the school since December 2020. The initiative received positive response and strong support from the Alumni Association and alumni of the School of Tourism Management. Organized by enthusiastic alumni such as President Luo Taiping, Vice Presidents Chen Lifang, Deng Liping and Jiang Zhenhua, and Secretary Zhou Fang of the Alumni Association of HUTB, the Alumni Scholarship Award Ceremony awarded 13 projects with a total bonus of RMB 30,000 yuan for the provincial A-class and B-class discipline competition awards and registered poor students.
