Professor Wang Kefei of Beijing Foreign Studies University Gives a Lecture in HUTB

On the afternoon of May 19, Professor Wang Kefei of Beijing Foreign Studies University was invited to give a lecture themed by "Corpus-based Bilingual Comparison and Translation Investigation" in Conference Room 401 in the No.2 Office Building, which was attended by Vice President Zhang Ling and the representatives of teachers and graduate students and presided over by Xie Yajun, Vice Dean of School of Foreign Languages.
Professor Wang Kefei explained the technical and scientific nature of translation studies from the macro, theoretical and application levels; conducted the synchronic and diachronic analysis of the original Chinese and translated Chinese from the level of passive structure bilingual corpus; investigated the differences in the application of the source language, target language and native language from the corpus level. Professor Deng Yunhua of Hunan Normal University summarized and commented on the lecture. He pointed out that Professor Wang's research methods are new, research space is wide, and he accumulated the deep academic knowledge. This lecture has opened up new ideas and directions for the future scientific researches of the school.
Professor Wang Kefei is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Beijing Foreign Studies University, the editor-in-chief of Foreign Language Teaching and Research, a famous journal of the Ministry of Education, full-time researcher of China Foreign Language and Education Research Center, also a member of the foreign language and literature discipline appraisal group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, expert of the discipline evaluation group of the The National Social Science Fund of China, evaluation expert of the project initiation, achievements and library of major projects, evaluation expert of the humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education, evaluation expert of the communication and conference of scientific research achievement awards in institutions of higher education, evaluation expert of the outstanding talents conference in the new century and evaluation expert of Youth Top-notch Talents Support Plan of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. He serves as the deputy director of Translation Theory and Teaching Committee of Translators Association of China, Vice President of Translation Research Association of Chinese Comparative Literature Association, President of Translation Culture Research Association of Chinese-Foreign Language and Culture Comparative Association, Director of Corpus Translation Professional Committee of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese (formerly the President of National Corpus Translation Research Association), Vice President of Foreign Language Journal Professional Committee of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, and the member of editorial boards of the journals such as Chinese Translation, Foreign Languages and Foreign Language Teaching, Foreign Language Journaland Foreign Language Research.He enjoys the special subsidies of government from the State Council.
