2020-10-23

On Oct. 20, Shi Bo, Deputy Dean of School of Foreign Languages and Gao Tao, director of the Business English Department, led business English teachers to the Hengbang Logistics Group in Wangcheng District, Changsha to conduct practical research.

Hengbang Logistics Group can be divided into Hengbang Express, Constant State Home Tick and Tick Supply Chain. It is a modern logistics group that integrates warehousing, transportation, distribution, sorting, packaging, logistics information management, logistics finance, and logistics solution design and operation. The group's network has covered 14 prefectures, 122 counties (cities, districts), and towns in the province, cooperating with 29 provinces in China.

Liu Haiquan, General Manager of the Group's Tick Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., personally led the teachers to visit the company's warehouse, sorting center, and transportation park, so that the teachers had a close understanding of the company's offline contract logistics, integrated "warehouse delivery," online e-commerce warehousing, sorting and packaging, and warehouse management mode.

After the visit, Manager Liu introduced the Hengbang Logistics Group's strategic policy, distribution center and operation section to the teachers. The teachers listened carefully to these explanations, conducted an in-depth exchange and discussion with Manager Liu on how to integrate business English majors with the logistics field, and put forward prospects and ideas.

Through this visit and study, the teachers better understood the industry and its operation process and specific operation of the logistics industry, which is a combination of theory and practice, thus offering the practical experience for future business English teaching.
