2020-09-25

In the first half of 2020, the Party Committee of the School of Computer & Information Engineering set up a volunteer service team mainly composed of student Party members for the volunteer services of COVID-19prevention and control and the publicity of VR Party building. This move was aimed to further raise students’ sense of responsibility and service awareness and to strengthen their moral quality and spirit of volunteering.

This volunteer service team, made up of 145 student Party members and outstanding Party candidates, features enthusiasm, patience and responsibility. In September, when the university was reopened for the new semester, the volunteer service team performed its duty in the first time. The team members actively cooperated on the university’s epidemic prevention and control by providing voluntary epidemic prevention and control services at the north gate in the Main Campus. These volunteers recorded their daily volunteer activities online every day and actively obeyed the internal arrangements and the command of the university’s administrators. The volunteers’ strict discipline and selfless devotion received the recognitionand praises from the faculty and other students.

Besides, these volunteers also actively participated in regional Party building. Basedon its characteristics, the School of Computer Science & Information Engineering selected outstanding members to form a “Volunteer Publicity Team for VR Party Building” for the interactive Party-related lectures. On September 22, the school invited the staff of nearby communities to attend the demo lecture of VR Party publicity, and this lecture was well received.

Each student volunteer in the team passionately participated in the school’s and the university’s work, consistently disciplined themselves as Party members, and earnestly fulfilled their obligations. All these have reflected their enthusiasm, patience and responsibility. In the future, the School of Computer Science & Information Engineering will continue to implement relevant work requirements and meticulously develop the institutionalized and standardized volunteer service team. By doing so, the schoolwill better contribute to its and the university’s development. (Reported by Zhang Xu and Liu Tianqing from School of Computer Science & Information Engineering)
