School of Tourism Management Holds Orientation Ceremony and Special Lecture for Freshmen

It’s the golden and breezy autumn. On the evening of September 22, the School of Tourism Management held the Orientation Ceremony and Special Lecture themed “University Planning and Target Education” for the 2020 freshmen in the Multifunctional Lecture Hall of the North Campus. The ceremony was presided over by Guo Yihong, Vice Party Secretary-General of the school.

The orientation ceremony kicked off with the majestic national anthem. Dean He Tianxiang addressed the ceremony. With professional and witty words, he introduced to the freshmen the university’s and the school’s overall situation and instructed the freshmen to plan their college life and set study goals. In the meantime, on behalf of the faculty and old students of the school, Mr. He extended his warm welcome to the 2020 freshmen.
Subsequently, Li Yalan, a representative of old students, and Peng Xi, a representative of new students, made speeches successively. Yang Yu, a representative of teachers used his own experience to vividly explain the content and current employment of the tourism management specialty as well as the reasons to study tourism management specialty. His speech made the students deeply reflect on the tourism specialty. He also expressed his ardent expectations for the students.
Li Jilin, Party Secretary-General of the school, put forward six suggestions to the freshmen: first, read more classics; second, understand the reality; third, adhere to self-discipline and self-improvement; fourth, make friends with upright people; fifth, seek life mentors; actively participate in practices. He urged that the students should seize the time to forge ahead with determination, to advance with the times, and to make contributions to the motherland’s development at the earliest time.
The school’s orientation ceremony for the 2020 freshmen came to a successful end in the resounding and passionate school song. The ceremony was attended by more than 300 people including the members of the school’s Party Committee Office and Principal Office, the teacher representatives, the instructors of freshmen classes (class advisors), the instructors of freshmen military training, the assistant advisors for students as well as the freshmen.
