Our Students Achieve a Good Result in the Hunan Collegiate Programming Contest

From Aug. 29 - 30,the 15th Hunan Collegiate Programming Contest was held in Hunan Normal University under the sponsorship of Hunan Provincial Education Department and the co-organization of Hunan Higher Education Federation Computer Education Committee. This competition is divided into programming, application developing, and robot golf, and attracted more than 300 teams from over 40 high education institutions to attend, including National University of Defense Technology, Central South University, Hunan University.

Our College of Computer Science & Information Technology organized 11 teams which participated in all three competitions, wherein it is our first time to apply the golf robot. After three-month training and preparation, our players received awards in the three competitions by virtue of their hard work, and won two second prizes and three third prizes.

China Collegiate Programming Contest is a college students-oriented science and technology innovation activity. It aims to stimulate college students' interests in computer programming, improve students' ability to comprehensively use the basic knowledge to conduct the algorithm design, analysis and programming realization, improve the development level of college students in computer hardware and software system, cultivate innovation ability and the team cooperation spirit of colleges students, promote the teaching reform of computer basic and professional courses in colleges and universities, enhance the interaction and learning between students, and increase the level of discipline construction. This competition has been held for fifteen times, and our university was present in all of them and achieved good results, promoting the discipline construction, talent cultivation, innovation and entrepreneurship education of all fields of the information technology.
