Our Faculty Participated in the International Seminar for Spatial Economics

The Sixth Chinese International Seminar for Spatial Economic was held in Yunnan University on December 16-19. The professor of our university He Wenju was invited to the seminar and introduced his own research achievements. He was also the chairman of the third session during the research and discussion stage of the seminar.
This seminar was held focusing on the theme "Spatial Economics and Regional Development under New Economy". The representatives who presented at the seminar made deep discussion and communication on the subjects such as the updated development of spatial economics theory, spatial statistics, spatial econometrics and its application, industrial agglomeration and urban development, supply-side reform and innovation development, green development and frontier economy, "One Belt and One Road" and spatial economic frontier, etc. At present, the increasing expansion of urbanization in China is transforming to the big growth of knowledge and innovative driving development method. The spatial organization and economic geography of Chinese economic activities have been changing violently and continuously with a trend, which has raised a significant demand for the research of spatial economy. Therefore, this seminar had a profound and lasting influence on the Chinese spatial economics under the new economy.
During the seminar, Professor He Wenju communicated with the experts and scholars, which enabled him have a comprehensive understanding on "One Belt and One Road" Initiatives and a new understanding on the new pattern of the international spatial economy. It also provides a good platform for the communication and exchange between our university and other colleges and universities.
