School of Mathematics and Statistics Held Lushan Upperclassman Forum

On the evening of October 7, a fascinating Lushan Upperclassman Forum lecture began for freshmen of School of Mathematics and Statistics in 2016, and the speaker was the student Hong Junmin in 2013.

Hong Junmin once worked as class group secretary, deputy secretary of Youth League Committee Branch of School of Mathematics and Statistics and assistant instructor of Statistics Class 1502. He owned outstanding academic results and won the title of "University Merit Student", "Minor Award" and the title of "Outstanding League Cadres" for many times and he also won the titles of "Hunan Outstanding Social Practice Individuals", "Top Ten Youth of Hunan University of Commerce at Seventeenth Appraise and Elect", etc.

Firstly, Hong Junmin made a short self-introduction and shared her experience of learning at university for three years, and then played a game for warm-up with freshmen, she made them draw a timer shaft and write plans for each year of future four university life and after graduation for three years and five years. The senior Hong Junmin told her university plan and shared the process of how she gained the final fruitful returns by endeavoring little by little after ingenuous contemplation or understandable description by students. And then she told students about how to prepare for an interview based on combining her own experience and the method was to be cool with full preparation, make use of own advantages, learn to cultivate own interest and cultivate it to strong point. Finally, Hong Junmin suggested every freshman to be aware of the importance of learning and shared lots of practical learning methods with them.

In this lecture, by combining her own experience, Hong Junmin told everyone that there were infinite possibilities for the future which depended on how everyone created it, and wished freshmen to choose a road suitable for themselves to meet their bright tomorrow.
