Two Teachers from Our University Participated in the First National Non-law Profession Legal Education Seminar of National Colleges and Universities

On September 28, deputy director of Hunan Educational Law Research Center and professor of our university Yang Zhengrong and professor Li Jiehao were invited to participate in the First National Non-law Profession Legal Education Seminar of National Colleges and Universities. This seminar was hosted by Law Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and supported and guided by Department of Policies and Laws of Ministry of Education. Nearly 200 persons including principals of Policy and Regulation Division of Education and Administrative Department of each province and city and people from Peking University, Wuhan University, Southwest University of Political Science & Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, etc. attended the seminar.

The current situation of non-law profession law-related education of national colleges and universities was discussed in the seminar by centering on Adolescent Law-Related Education Outline published by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice and National Law's Popularization Office together in June of this year. All participants of the seminar thought that "nomocracy publicity and education" raised in the 18th Party Congress and Comprehensively Promoting the Decision of Law-based Governance passed in the Fourth Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee of the CPC pointed out the target and task for reinforcing non-law profession "law-related education" of colleges and universities. Professor Yang Zhengrong systematically shared basic experience of Hunan University of Commerce carrying out "law-related education" in the group discussion in the afternoon. Besides traditional Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Fundamentals of Law course, our university also organized teachers of Law School to specially set First Principles of Law and uniformly write teaching materials to serve as required course for non-law profession college students of our university with good effect gained. At the stage of seminar report summary, professor Li Jiehao gave a delicate summary and comment on group discussion for the seminar on behalf of Hunan group, Guangdong group, Guangxi group and Hainan group.
