School of Economy & Trade held the Graduate Academic Salon

On June 6, the School of Economy & Trade held the Graduate Academic Salon. Liu Siwei, the head of the School of Economy & Trade; the executive vice-head Peng Bingzhong; the vice-head Liu Leshan, Luo Shuanglin and Lu Shan; the deputy secretary Yan Jianjun, He Tianxiang; the vice-head of the School of Tourism Management; Cao Qiuju, the vice-head of School of Finance; some master’s supervisors and all graduate students of the School of Economy & Trade attended the salon. This salon was presided over by Lu Shan.

The graduates shared their recent learning feelings and exchanged the academic achievements. The student Liu Jiali introduced the recent paper Effect Analysis of Manufacturing Agglomeration on Regional Economic Growth. The paper conducted the in-depth analysis with the core and periphery theory, new economic geography and other theories through the analysis focusing on the real background of teemed industrial clusters, gap between the rich and the poor as well as the regional disparity expansion, and explained the effect of manufacturing agglomeration upon the regional economic growth through the empirical analysis. Many teachers and students put forward their own suggestions for viewpoints in this paper. The student Li Ningqi explained her paper Mechanism Analysis on Transfer of Domestic Excess Capacity through Outward Foreign Direct Investment, introduced the necessity and the possibility of the research, and conducted the mechanism analysis on such research from three aspects. The teachers and students all showed that this paper reflected the main problems which the state currently faced and had good reference value, but the orientation of problems shall be considered.
Lu Shan made the summary for this academic salon, deemed that the students made the full preparation, and hoped that the graduates would hold more academic salons in the future for exchanging ideas and drawing on each other’s strength, striving for further improvement on the academic level in three years of graduate career.
