NewVoice Poetry and Language Arts Association Holds Mid-Autumn Moon Poetry Gathering for Faculty and Staff
2023-09-30
To enrich the campus cultural activities during the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays and enhance the development of “Cultural HUTB”, on the evening of September 27, the "New Voice" Poetry and Language Arts Association held a unique "New Voice" Mid-Autumn Moon Poetry Gathering at Changyuan within the university campus, themed around "Moon" and fostering friendship through "poetry."

This event was hosted by the Labour Union, co-organized by the "New Voice" Poetry and Language Arts Association in collaboration with the School of Digital Media and Humanities. It is one of the activities within HUTB's "Radiance of Humanities" series. The poetry gathering featured over ten works, including "China under Moonlight," "Mid-Autumn," "Ode to the Academy," "Moon," and others, with several of them being original creations by the faculty and staff. At the Changyuan lotus pond, the stage design for the evening was both ingenious and naturally harmonious. Poetry intertwined with the moon, water, lotus, lanterns, and people; teachers recited or sang, creating a symphony of elegant verses that belong to both themselves and this era. With the accompaniment of flutes and erhus, classical melodies blended seamlessly with modern sounds, offering a series of splendid performances. This brought the university's faculty and students a literary and soulful feast brimming with poetry, showcasing the profound humanistic heritage of HUTB.

The "New Voice" Poetry and Language Arts Association is an association of faculty and staff affiliated with the Labour Union, which was established upon approval in the first half of this year. The association has brought together a large number of faculty and staff at the university who have a deep passion for poetry and language arts. It actively organizes literary field trips, artistic salons, and academic lectures, hosts themed poetry gatherings, and collaborates with the university on campus cultural work collection activities, the Hunan Provincial University Student Writing and Speech Contest, and the Chinese Classic Recitation Contest. It is committed to contributing to the cultural development and talent cultivation at the university. (Reported by School of Digital Media and Humanities)
