Several students from School of Mathematics and Statistics of Hunan University of Commerce said that "Teacher Wang was a teacher whom we respected and liked most, and we often called him Mr. Wang" and spoke highly of him when mentioning Wang Jingtong a few days ago.

Wang Jingtong was among the top ten young teachers, a teaching expert of the university. He insisted on writing on the blackboard with chalk for many years, which was neat and orderly, smooth and clear at a glance and was deeply loved by students. Advanced Algebra, Calculus taught by him were evaluated as the excellent curriculum of the university for many times, and some students often came to listen to his lecture after entering senior grade.

Math was the elementary course, so Wang Jingtong's teaching workload reached to more than 1,000 class hours every year. What's more, Wang Jingtong served as instructor of various competitions and scientific research projects for many times. In 2015, students instructed by him participated in the American mathematical modeling competition and won the second prize, which was unprecedented at Hunan University of Commerce.

The student from Information Science Class 1201 taught by Wang Jingtong said that "he was a tutor for learning and also a parent in life". There was a special student in our class, who lived in a village and whose father got ill, so his family condition was difficult, he was dissocial and often absent from school. After understanding this, Wang Jingtong often had a heart-to-heart talk with him and contacted and communicated with his family. With concern and love from Wang Jingtong, the student became optimistic and made great progress in learning.

During the period of freshman military training, a student felt painful due to recidivation of kidney stone at 3:00 a.m.. Wang Jingtong came to the dormitory quickly as soon as he heard the news, and sent the student to the hospital for emergency treatment and paid the medical fee and accompanied the student until dawn.
