Leaders from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Visit HUTB for Investigation and Exchange

On the afternoon of April 1, Ge Shilun, Party Secretary-General of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (JUST), and Ye Meilan, President of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT), visited HUTB for investigation and exchange. The meeting was attended by Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, Liu Guoquan, Vice President of HUTB, and leaders of the Party Committee Office and Principal Office and Institute of Big Data and Internet Innovation.
The meeting was held at the conference room of Institute of Big Data and Internet Innovation. At the meeting, Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, introduced the history of HUTB, the layout of “new engineering courses + new business courses+new liberal arts courses”, the educational philosophy of science as important foundation, interdisciplinary construction and talent training, scientific research platform and project at national level, high-level scientific achievement award, the fostering of campus culture atmosphere, and the successful transformation of Beijin College to Xiangtan Polytechnic University as an exemplary model of transformation in Hunan. She expressed the hope that HUTB will strengthen exchange and cooperation with JUST and NJUPT for common development.
Party Secretary-General Ge Shilun and President Ye Meilan introduced the history, educational foundation and characteristics, disciplinary construction and talent training of JUST and NJUPT respectively, and analyzed the existing challenges and opportunities facing respective universities. They expressed the hope that both JUST and NJUPT will learn from HUTB’s successful experience in the construction of discipline, laboratory, research team, campus environment and culture, so as to achieve new development and progress during the “14thFive-Year Plan” period.
The attendees also had exchange of ideas and discussion on disciplinary construction and interschool joint talent training.
During the investigation, Party Secretary-General Ge Shilun and President Ye Meilan also visited the Academician Achievement Exhibition, laboratory and Chufeng Academy of HUTB, and spoke highly of HUTB’s advanced research platform, beautiful campus environment, high-quality learning place and profound cultural atmosphere.
