Review Meeting of 2020 China-Korea College Student Calligraphy Competition (China Region) Held in HUTB

On August 18, the 2020 China-Korea College Student Calligraphy Competition (China Region) themed “Science and Art” was held in HUTB.

The 2020 China-Korea College Student Calligraphy Competition themed “Science and Art” is initiated by Hong Kong Jigu Institute, jointly held by Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul National University, Kyonggi University, Daejeon University, Dongguk University, Jeju National University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Central South University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, Beijing Language and Culture University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and HUTB, with HUTB as the main organizer. The review meeting was hosted by Wu Can, Dean of the School of Art & Design. On the meeting, Xu Shu, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, delivered a welcoming speech.
The review meeting for the completion in China region were carried out both online and offline. Totally 48 sets of works and papers were submitted to theexperts organized by the organizing committee have for review by Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Central South University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, and Hunan University of Technology and Business.
The China-Korea College Student Calligraphy Competition themed “Science and Art”and based on the principles of “seeking scientific truth, humanistic goodness, and artistic beauty”, encourages contemporary college students to deeply study classic ancient books and the original documents in ancient books. Through the calligraphy art, this competition aims to enhance college students’ humanistic literacy, broaden their understandings of “science and art”, promote the cultural exchanges between Chinese and Korean college students, and boost the friendship between China and South Korea.
