The Fifth Provincial "Internet Plus" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Ended Successfully in Our University

During Aug. 26-28, after three days of intense competition, the Fifth Hunan "Internet Plus" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and National Competition Trials ended successfully in our university.
President & Academician Chen Xiaohong, Wang Guishu, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Deputy Director-general of the Provincial Education Department, and Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Huang Zanjia, Deputy Director of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Group, Qiu Yi, Deputy Secretary of the League Committee, and Huang Shaoming, Deputy President of China Construction Bank Hunan Branch, attended the award ceremony and jointly presented awards to the awardees and teachers and students.
President & Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered a speech at the award ceremony. She said that this competition was not only a grand ceremony of youth, but also a baptism of growth. In this era of mass entrepreneurship and innovation, the university does not simply make "Internet Plus" innovation and entrepreneurship competition into a simple competition, but regards it as an important platform for cultivating innovation spirit, entrepreneurial awareness and innovation & entrepreneurship ability of university students, an important starting point for deepening the reform and development of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and a key measure to cultivate "Internet Plus" new technologies, new formats and new models. The university will face the future and work with colleges and universities in the province to cultivate more innovative, entrepreneurial and applied talents.
Deputy Director-general Wang Guishu expressed sincere congratulations to the winning universities and teachers and students. He said that there were high enthusiasm, high activity quality, high project value and high organization level in the competition, which produced many innovation and entrepreneurship achievements with originality, connotation, rich imagination and creativity, thus bringing new impetus to Hunan economic and social development. Next, we should thoroughly study, comprehend and implement the spirit of answering of General Secretary Xi Jinping to the students in "Youth Red Dream Building Trip" of the third China's "Internet Plus" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
There were 120 colleges and universities, 88,496 projects and 215,827 students enrolled in the competition, which lasted for more than 4 months. A total of 341 teams from 66 colleges and universities in the province was selected for the final stage of the provincial intermediary contest. The number of participants has reached a new record, and the scale has become the largest in all previous years, achieving the gratifying goal of "increasing quantity and improving quality". After a series of selections, the competition selected 60 first prizes,100 second prizes, 181 third prizes, 30 excellent organization awards, and 60 excellent innovation and entrepreneurship mentors, and 43 projects were selected into the national finals.
Ten teams of our university were shortlisted in the finals. After fierce competition, "E-point Communication for Children Programming", "Classroom Learning Aid Decision Analysis System Based on AI Behavior Big Data", "Microfluidic Detector - Leader in Detection of Fruit and Vegetable Pesticide Residue", "Intelligent+ Waste Classification and Recycling System - Pioneer of Waste Classification Solution in Smart City", and "Intelligent Pension - Top Solution of Internet of Things Health Care Integrated System" won the first prize.
In the national competition trials on the 28th, "Microfluidic Detector - Leader in Detection of Fruit and Vegetable Pesticide Residue" and "'Intelligent+' Waste Classification and Recycling System - Pioneer of Waste Classification Solution in Smart City" of our university were selected into the national finals.
For the "Microfluidic Detector - Leader in Detection of Fruit and Vegetable Pesticide Residue", the enzyme inhibition method is used to detect fruit and vegetable pesticide residue. A machine can detect 12 samples at the same time. At present, the sample machine has been produced, and there are trial sites in Changsha. For the "'Intelligent+' Waste Classification and Recycling System - Pioneer of Waste Classification Solution in Smart City", the waste compression and purification & cleaning technology is used to compress the water in the waste, purify the leachate in the waste, and reduce the cyclic pollution of the waste to the soil and atmosphere.
In order to organize the competition well, the university not only formulated a detailed work plan, but also paid attention to the use of digital means to make the organization of the competition more simple and smooth. For example, the electronic manual replaced the paper manual, and the real-time update and sharing of the event information on the mobile phone were realized through the development of the background program of the manual; The on-site review was orderly and the scoring system was simple and intuitive due to the application of visual timing and scoring system.
