The University Organized Hunan Provincial Contest of the 9th "Foreign Teacher Club Cup" National Foreign Language Teaching Contest of Colleges and Universities

Recently, the intermediary contest and final contest of Hunan Provincial Contest of the 9th "Foreign Teacher Club Cup" National Foreign Language Teaching Contest of Colleges and Universities were held at the university. The contest was jointly hosted by the teaching instruction committee of foreign language literature of Hunan Institutions of Higher Education, Hunan Translators Association, the University Foreign Language Specialty Committee of the Hunan Higher Education Institute and Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, and organized by the university. Vice-president Liu Guoquan of the university attended the contest.

The contest was divided into the group of English Specialty and the group of Business English Specialty. After the preliminary contest, a total of 33 teachers from 24 provincial colleges and universities participated in the intermediary contest. After fierce competition, 13 teachers entered the final contest. Finally, 2 contestants won the special award, and 31 contestants won the first, second and third prize, respectively.

At the award ceremony, Director Zeng Liqin of Higher Education Office of Provincial Education Department congratulated the success of the contest. He pointed out that the foreign language teaching in colleges and universities should be based on the requirements of international talents' cultivation and make constant innovation of teaching content, teaching philosophy and teaching method.

Vice-president Liu Guoquan of the university gave full affirmation of the contest work in his speech, and introduced the general situation of the university and the characteristics of foreign language teaching. The leader of judges of the group of English Specialty Prof. Li Li of Southwest University and the leader of judges of the group of Business English Specialty Prof. Ge Lingling of School of Foreign Languages of University of South China made excellent comments on the contest of the group of English Specialty and the group of Business English Specialty respectively. The leaders and experts presented awards to the winning contestants. Vice Manager Huang Wei of Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press made the summary speech. (Yang Jian)
