The Research Proposal Meeting on ‘Green Development System’ Is Held in HNUC

On January 14th, the research proposal meeting on ‘Green Development System’, led by Prof. Chen Xiaohong, was held in our university. It is ranked as the key project of 2016 philosophy and social science research from the Ministry of Education. The following experts attended the meeting: Xu Weisheng, former director of Institute of Science and Technology Policy and Management Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Bei Xingya, the former director of Development Research Center of Hunan Provincial Government, Zhou Shangyou, deputy director of Construction Management Committee of Changsha,Zhuzhou,Xiangtan Pilot Areas of Resource-economical and Environment-friendly Society(two-oriented society), Tang Yuwen, deputy director of Development Research Center of Hunan Provincial Government, Pan Biling, deputy director of Environmental Protection Department of Hunan Provincial Government, Liu Youjing, vice president of Hunan University of Science and Technology. The meeting was chaired by Wang Minggao, vice president of Hunan University of Commerce (HNUC). All members of the research team participated the meeting.
Prof. Chen Xiaohong, the chief expert of research team and president of our university, gave a welcome speech extending the sincere appreciation for every guest’s attendance and support. She briefed guests on the basic situation of research demonstration and history of HNUC, especially the striking achievements in scientific research, discipline construction, talents pool cultivation during recent years. Under such circumstances, Hunan University of Commerce improved its ranking and attracted attention of society.
On behalf of the research team, Prof. Ren Shenggang from Business School of Central South University, a member of research team, detailed the research’s value, relevant reference at home and aboard, thread and approaches, overall design, key and difficult points, scientific foundation and research team, expectations.
After the presentation of research proposal, present experts commented it and made many constructive suggestions at the core of research field, characteristics and practical significance. It was agreed that the research has great significance with a favorable theoretical and practical foundation in the earlier part. It would promote the development in ‘Green Development System’ at home, provide road-map to resolve contradictions during implementation of Green Development System and accelerate our social and economic transformation, so as to build a beautiful China, and Green Destiny Community. Furthermore, experts hoped the research team is conscious of potential problems and countermeasures, not only think about future system design, but also assess the effectiveness of system. The research should show the innovation, far-sight, and ration.
Finally, President Chen Xiaohong expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the reviews from experts. Research team would sort out the thread further; carefully discuss the valuable comments put forward by the experts. So as to keep the control of the top-level design, make breakthrough and serve for national and local decision-making.
Key projects of 2016 philosophy and social science research from the Ministry of Education are on a par with key projects from National Social Science Foundation. It is aimed at higher education satisfying the need of economic and social development, pushing back the academic frontier, carrying out innovative researches. The selection of projects in 2016 was very intense, only 47 projects were elected all over the country and 2 projects were elected in Hunan province. The research team led by President Chen, designed to meet country’s strategical need and Hunan province ecological civilization and ‘two-oriented’ society construction, with the latest academic frontier of Green Development System. The project was plan to explore the green development path from many institutional innovations, such as evaluation, incentives, accountability system, marketization of emission rights.
