Our University Obtained the Major Tackling Topic Projects from Ministry of Education

In recent days, the result of 2016 Philosophy and Social Science Research Important Tackling Topic Projects issued by Ministry of Education was announced, and the Research on Institutional System of Green Development submitted by professor Chen Xiaohong, president of our university, was approved.
As the concentrated reflection of Chinese development thought, development direction and acting point during the "13th Five-year Plan" and the longer period, the "green development" had developed into one of the core concepts about economic and social development in China. In order to explore the "green development" realization path from the green development's evaluation, excitation, accountability, emission rights market transaction and other institutional innovations, the research team which was led by the president Chen Xiaohong, took aim at the world's green development theoretical frontier, highly docked with the national strategy demands, closely combined with the exploration and practice about ecological civilization and "resource-conserving & environmental-friendly" society construction.
The Ministry of Education's Major Tackling Topic Project was the highest-level liberal arts research project having widest-influenced, strongest-authorized and largest-subsidized national-level by Ministry of Education and equally famous with the National Social Science Foundation Major Bidding Project. It aims at supporting universities to adapt to the national economic and social development, master the discipline frontiers as well as deeply and systematically carry out the innovative research. This project had yielded a batch of important achievements with the widespread influence and remarkable effects since its establishment in 2003, which had developed into an important index to evaluate the scientific research strength and power of colleges and universities. The 2016 Philosophy and Social Science Research Important Tackling Topic Projects issued by Ministry of Education only planned to accept 50 projects. After the fierce competition and expert review, only 47 projects were approved.
The successful approval of the important topic projects will promote the green development theoretical research in China, resolve many contradictions in the implementation process of Chinese green development strategy, realize the economic social transformation, drive the "beautiful China" construction and provide the development thought for creating the "green community with a common future" for human beings.
