Dublin Institute of Technology Visited Our University

On November 25, Sarah Jane Delany, the deputy president of Computer Science College of Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) came to our university for visiting and discussing the following interschool communication and cooperation projects, such as, "2+2" and "3+1+1" projects (undergraduates), "1+1" and "2+1" projects (postgraduates), cooperative cultivation of young teachers and doctors, overseas training class, etc. The president Chen Xiaohong and the deputy president Li Dingjun met with the guests.

In the morning, the president Chen Xiaohong affectionately met with the guests who came from Dublin Institute of Technology, extended her warm welcome to their visiting, and expressed the gratitude for their warm reception to our university's delegation in June. She hoped that the two universities can carry out the comprehensive cooperation and communication, especially, in the big data research field.

Then, the main responsible persons of Personnel Department, Postgraduate College, School of Computer Science & Information Technology, School of Mathematics and Statistics, Tourism Management College, International Exchange and Cooperation Office as well as other departments and schools held a conference with the representatives of Dublin Institute of Technology, therein, the deputy president Li Dingjun participated in the conference and made a speech. He briefly introduced our university's history, characteristics and the near-term development goals. He placed great expectations on the cooperative projects between two universities and wished the conference a great success.

Then, the professor Sarah Jane Delany was invited to serve as the guest in Lushan Forum and make a speech about big data text analysis for our teachers and students in F201 of Lezhi Building. All teachers and students benefited a lot from the speech.

In the afternoon, the representatives of Dublin Institute of Technology made interview for 38 young teachers who apply for the Doctor Joint Cultivation Project. They focused on knowing the English level, professional background and research directions of examinees, then, selecting the candidates who were qualified to join in the next investigation.
