The news Tao Ruqin: University Student Walks Into "Leprosy Village" for Ten Times which was written by the Propaganda Department of Party Committee of HNUC was released on the front-page headlines of China Education Daily on November 22.

Tao Ruqin was the senior student in the Human Resources Management Specialty in the School of Business Administration. As a probationary Party member, she joined in the volunteer organization when she was a freshman. She came to the lepriasis rehabilitation villages in Hunan Province to carry out the voluntary service activities in her spare time. The news regarded the "village visiting" (in Longjing Mountain of Zhuzhou) which was conducted by Tao Ruqin before the Mid-autumn Festival as the cutting point to represent the living scene in the isolated lepriasis rehabilitation villages, the enlightenment of the students volunteers in the "village visiting" process, their obtained education, as well as the profound friendship with the senior citizens.

Tao Ruqin and her "partners" persisted in carrying out voluntary service activities in the lepriasis villages all the year round, which reflected the warm-hearted social feelings, lofty spiritual quality and steadfast action ability of 90s university students. They also intensively embodied the socialist core values ("patriotism, dedication, integrity and friendship"), therefore, which had the strong active guidance and model demonstration function.

In recent years, the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of HNUC made efforts to advocate the innovation consciousness and competitive products consciousness. As for the foreign-oriented publicity, our university had promoted "Glass University Student" Cheng Shuangjia, the "Most Beautiful Girl in Hunan" Xiao Xia, the "Free Hug of Love" Chen Wang and other student models, and the satisfactory social response was generated.

In this crucial period when our university was making efforts to realize the "three improvements" strategic target, the secondary units shall actively excavate the news materials, provide the news clues and build the working force to drive the propaganda platform to reach a new stage and level, besides, create the favorable public opinions environment for the scientific development of our university.
