Our University Summarized and Commended Summer Vacation Campus Construction Work

On the afternoon of November 7, our university held the summer vacation campus construction summary and commending meeting and late construction dispatch meeting. University leaders Chen Xiaohong, Peng Jinqing, Chen Liying, Wang Minggao, Li Dingjun, Liu Guoquan and Yang Liangqi - member of the party committee and director of Office of Party and Government Affairs attended it. Overall review and summary for summer vacation campus construction work were conducted, 51 advanced individuals were commended and deployment on late campus construction work was made at the meeting. The conference was presided over by vice-president Peng Jinqing.
At the meeting, director of infrastructure construction department Fu Jianhui, director of logistics department Ding Xiaoyao, director of asset management department Yang Duanke, director of modern education technique center Shen Haixiang were representatives of summer vacation construction departments who gave a report about the construction task undertaken by them, working condition, construction achievement, etc., separately. In the summer vacation of 2016, the campus construction work was a heavy task in limited time. Under the uniform arrangement and deployment by our university, logistics department, infrastructure construction department, modern education technique center, asset management department, student apartment center, centralized purchasing center, finance department, auditing department, inspection office and other related function departments vigorously cooperated and spared no effort to make sure successful completion of over 70 campus construction tasks in summer vacation. In the work process, a batch of advanced individuals whose performance was prominent came forth. They gave up vacation rest time to struggle under the high temperature, insisted and fought on the forefront of campus construction with full enthusiasm for work and rigorous and meticulous working attitude and made active contribution to well completing various tasks on schedule.
Vice-president Wang Minggao read out the notification for commending advanced individuals of 2016 summer vacation campus construction of the university.
Vice-president Peng Jinqing generalized features of summer vacation campus construction with "large construction scale, many projects, wide involved range, limited time, many cross operations, big construction difficult and high engineering quality requirement". He pointed out that the completion of the projects greatly improved conditions for running schools of our university, optimized campus environment, updated campus taste and laid an important material basis for "three improvements"; fully embodied our university's cadre and staff had will and character of daring to have a rough time and fight an uphill battle, style of work of daring to rush forward during critical moment and good spirit and tradition of dedication and solidarity and cooperation.
For construction tasks at the next stage, vice-president Peng Jinqing made a deployment and proposed that: firstly, fight the clock and make preparation for preliminary work in advance; secondly, strengthen coordination and pull together; thirdly, strictly manage assets; fourthly, control the procedure; fifthly, reinforce monitoring against constructor; sixthly, maintain bottom line.
President Chen Xiaohong expressed her sincere thanks to faculty working hard to improve campus appearance on behalf of the university in the summary speech. She pointed out that each department pulled together, carried forward the spirit of daring to struggle, daring to take on responsibilities and being dedicated during summer vacation campus construction and such spirit was very crucial to development of our university, and both "double first-class" construction and "three improvements" of our university should depend on such spirit. She further emphasized that for realizing campus appearance "changing every year, and changing a lot every three years", units participating in construction should complete appropriation budget ahead of time and think over construction details based on "spirit of the craftsman" to make more elegant campus appear in front of teachers and students. For this purpose, president Chen hoped that the whole university could further elevate master thought, vigorously promote the spirit of fighting, dedication and cooperation, firmly build consciousness of overall, quality, detail, environment, safety and boutique, and make new contributions to better and faster development of various university works.
