Our School Held First Charity Auction

Love in HNUC radiates to the world; donation of love attributes to your participation. In order to practice the socialist core values in an in-depth way, to foster the positive campus culture of mutual helping as well as to raise fund for poor students, our school held the first charity auction on the evening of May 27th in Room F201 of Lezhi Building. Tang Yayang, Xia Jichun, the deputy Party Secretary, Chen Liying, the secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Zeng Fuqiu, the vice president and the alumni from Changsha, Shaoyang, Hengyang, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and other places, teachers in our school and comrades from Changsha Development Fund  attended the auction. The auction was initiated by President Chen Xiaohong and assembled more than 70 auction goods from leaders including Party Secretary Tang Yayang, President Chen Xiaohong, faculties, alumni as well as other kind- hearted persons.

Party secretary Tang Yayang made a speech and formally announced the beginning of the auction, expressed thanks to organizers and staff who worked very hard for the auction, and to donors and kind people who participated in the auction, hoping to transfer an upward, forward, positive energy through this love auction and to advocate good spirits and culture. Party Secretary Tang said, every alumnus was the expanded part of HNUC and the society’s evaluation of alumni was the best evaluation the school could expect. Yesterday you take pride in alma mater, today the alma mater feel proud of you.

The goods in the auction included calligraphy works about the motto and ethos of HNUC written by academician He Jishan, and Qin Yuehong, famous fission school founding painter and descendant of Qi Baishi, calligraphy works of the famous painter Wang Deshui, horizontal lines of cursive handwriting by famous calligrapher Hu Youde, Qingyun Painting by famous painter Li Jianxin as well as ceramic glazed colored porcelain National Beauty and Heavenly Fragrance and other handcrafts. The whole auction was lively and extraordinary, kind people from different places were eager to bid. After rounds of bids, all auction goods were “swept away”. Among them, Fudi Logistics Company donated 123,000 yuan; Mr. Jin Yuxing donated 83,500 yuan; Mr. Ning Songkai donated 70,000 yuan; Henglian Computer Co., Ltd. donated 63,000 yuan; Guangzhou alumni donated 54,000 yuan; Mr.Tu Liquan donated 51,000 yuan; Mr.Yan Xiaodong donated 33000 yuan; President Chen Xiaohong donated 24,000 yuan; Ms. Zhou Yinfang donated 20,000 yuan; Ms. Li Yanhong donated 16,000 yuan; Mr.Xie Lijun donated 16,000 yuan; Mr.Chen Qian donated 11,000 yuan; Mr. He Shiyuan donated 10,000 yuan. The auction eventually raised 710,500yuan (The list of all article-donors and money attached as follows).

At present, among the students in our university, 3819 of them are poverty-stricken students on file and 318 of them are especially needy. All the donations of the auction will be used to fund for poor students of HNUC, helping them improve learning and living conditions, encouraging them to be more confident in future study and life.

The school will continue to carry out the charity activities, welcome kind people to continually care about the development of the school and the growth of poor students.
