Postgraduates in HNUC Achieved Success Again in the 2nd Hunan University Postgraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest

Recently, the 2nd Hunan University Postgraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest was held in Changsha University of Science and Technology. A total of 194 teams from 16 postgraduate training units in the Hunan Province took part in the competition.   After last year’s good results with all the 10 teams winning prizes, our school again achieved good results this year with 2 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 7 third prizes, which set anew winning record. The total score and winning rate of our school ranked third in the province, second only to the National University of Defense Technology and Changsha University of Science and Technology.

In order to do a good job in the organization of the competition, Graduate School began the propaganda and mobilization activities in late February and set up 16 teams for whom Professor Xie Xiaoliang, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics was invited to provide up to half a month of special training.

Apart from that, it also organized a series of activities including launch ceremony of training, expert counseling report and simulation of question-answer session. At the same time, the event also received full support from departments like School of Mathematics and Statistics, Entrepreneurship Education and Practice Teaching Center, Assets Management Division, Logistics Division, etc.

This competition played an important role in improving the innovation ability of the postgraduates and the innovation of scientific research methods. (By Graduate School)
