Professor Chen Xiaohong Was Selected as Cultural Master & “Four for One String” Talent, Leading Talent on Philosophy and Social Sciences of “Ten Thousand Talents Plan”

Organized by Propaganda Department and Organization Department of CCCPC, after soliciting opinions, communication review of related experts, and comprehensive review program, the list of Cultural Masters & “Four for One String” Talents, Leading Talents on Philosophy and Social Sciences of “Ten Thousand Talents Plan” was released recently. And professor Chen Xiaohong was on the list.
“Ten Thousand Talents Plan”, aiming at supporting national high-level talents, is equal to the “Thousand Talents Plan” which focuses on attracting oversea high-level talents. Started from September 2012, “Ten Thousand Talents Plan” has been attached great importance by leaders from central government. It plans to spend about 10 years to select and support ten thousand high-level talents, including three levels of seven categories---the first level has 100 talents, who have the potential for Noble Prize and becoming the world-class scientists; the second level has 8000 talents, who are the urgently needed leading talents on national science and industrial development, including science innovation leading talents, science start-up leading talents, talents of philosophy and social sciences, master teachers and engineering leading talents; the third level has 2000 talents, they are potential talents whose age is less than 35.
“National Cultural Master & ‘Four for One String’ Talents Selecting and Cultivating Program” is a national special program and a significant decision made by CPC Central Committee for the implementation of the “Talent Power” strategy. The purpose of this program is to cultivate a group of national high-level talents who are politically reliable, learned and have outstanding achievements and wide influence. The emphasis of this program is on cultivating young talent and high-level management personnel, specialized technical personnel on the following four fields, like theory, news, publishing, literature and art.
Professor Chen Xiaohong is a member of State Council’s subject consultative group on Industry and Commerce Administration, member of the Social & Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, obtainer of National Outstanding Youth, the head and chief professor of the Innovation Research Group of National Natural Science Funds, the “Yangtze River Scholar” Innovation Group, national key discipline, and state-level teaching group and characteristic disciplines. The continuing research work in decision theory, decision support system, financing of small and medium sized enterprises, two type society (resource conserving and environment friendly) and ecological civilization makes professor Chen Xiaohong an influential scientists both at home and abroad. Professor Chen Xiaohong won the second prize of National Science & Technology Progress, the first prize for outstanding achievement in the humanities and social science of the Ministry of Education, first prize of Chinese University Science &Technology, Hunan Guangzhao Award of Science & Technology, Hunan Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award, second prize of the National Teaching Achievement,etc.
