Recently, the Department of Education of Hunan Province and the Industry and Information Technology Department of Hunan Province jointly released the list of approved projects for the second batch of Hunan Provincial Excellent Engineer Training (Practice) Bases. The "Hunan University of Technology and Business Artificial Intelligence Excellent Engineer Training (Practice) Base", which was jointly applied for by the university's School of Excellent Engineers (leading the initiative), the School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing, the School of Computer Science, in collaboration with KylinSec, Xiangjiang Laboratory and Hunan Central South Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., has been successfully approved for project establishment. It is the only provincial-level Excellent Engineer Base focusing on "artificial intelligence".

The construction of this base is a key initiative for HUTB to closely align with the national strategy of becoming a manufacturing power and thoroughly implement the development blueprint of Hunan Province's "Three Highlands, Four New Missions". It is planned to build "One Platform and Three Centers", namely, an integrated platform for industry-university-research-application, along with an education, teaching and resource center, a practice and training center, and an innovation and cooperation center. Through systematic planning, the base will accurately align with the industrial chain, innovation chain and talent chain in the field of artificial intelligence, and continuously deepen the "Six Co-" collaborative education model featuring co-discussion, co-construction, co-management, sharing, co-cultivation and co-evaluation. The initiative aims to drive the transformation and upgrading of the development of relevant majors, enhance the capacity of serving society with science and technology, improve the "self-sustaining" function for the sustainable development of the base, gradually establish a scientific, efficient and well-supported long-term operation and management system, provide solid support for the cultivation of excellent engineers, and facilitate the high-quality and sustainable development of the base.

The university attaches great importance to the cultivation of excellent engineers, and clearly identifies this work as a key measure to deepen the development of "new engineering courses" and support Hunan Province in realizing the grand blueprint of the "Three Highlands, Four New Missions". The Undergraduate School has actively established an interdisciplinary collaborative education mechanism, fully aligned with the needs of enterprises and scientific research platforms, promoted the in-depth integration of curriculum systems and practical training, and laid a solid foundation for cultivating students' engineering innovation capabilities. The successful approval of this base fully demonstrates the university's forward-looking layout and solid accumulation in talent cultivation in the field of artificial intelligence. Going forward, the university will fully guarantee the construction and operation of the base, and strive to cultivate high-quality engineering and technical talents in the field of artificial intelligence who possess a solid theoretical foundation, excellent engineering practical capabilities and outstanding innovative spirit.
